Crown Plaza

We had a wonderful time at the Crown. The staff were very friendly, and the room was suited for our needs. The location was a little off Rodeo Drive, a little over a mile walk but great overall. We had a room situated on one of the higher floors, which was nice because they did not book groups/high schools or any other loud travelers on these floors. The floor was quite, the wind outside the building was noticeable, but the room was a nice place to sleep. Being a rewards member, we were given "sleeping" items: lavender pillow spray, eye mask and eat plugs. The only problem was that there was only one set. Not a big deal, I don’t use any of that stuff.

The concierge was helpful in setting up reservations. You do need to pay a daily parking fee, either valet or self park, don’t bother paying for valet, unless you really need the service. Finding a parking space was easy and I think quicker than valet. For couples who want to be close to great shopping and tourist attar without paying the over rated "Beverly Hills" price, I would highly recommend the Crown Plaza on Beverly Drive.

The only complaint I have is they advertised a heated pool and it wasn't, we lucked out and stayed there when it was 90 degrees so it didn't matter, there wasn't alot of people at the pool which was great, always got a good spot and they had alot of clean towels, and a hot tub which was very hot. The room was very nice and the bed was fabulous, the best sleep I ever had on vacation and my husband who has a bad back agreed. You could walk down the street to eat, a fair amount of choices, and walk to Rodeo Drive, other than that you had to take a taxi everywhere else. I thought the hotel staff was exceptionally nice for a hotel and did their best to make us happy, they gave us a discount because we complained about the pool not being heated, and every hotel you stay at in Ca., you have to pay for parking so that was not a big deal. I would not hesitate to stay there again. They did have nice big alarm clock radios too, if you didn't want to call for a wake-up call & hair dryers, coffee pots & internet hook-up in the rooms

Reserved King Non-smoking, was given a double smoking, took an hour to be moved to another double non-smoking. Other guests entered my room at night with keys. two-egg breakfast cold, toast was missing?called for toast was given 2 slices of plain bread straight out of the bag not toasted. Can hear people walking on the floor above and in the adjacent rooms. Hotel smelled. Horrible customer service. Worst hotel stay ever. Front desk did nothing to make ammends for all their mistakes and sending people into my room at night when I was in bed!

What a nightmare

First I would like to point out that I am a person that never complains. I also smoke and had requesed a smoking room. The room still had the smoke from the people before and had not been vented out. They charged for parking, I am sorry but if I am staying at your hotel I expect to park for free at the prices I am paying, I do not expect to be nickel and dime to death. The staff was o.k., but not this is not service I was expecting in Beverly Hills. Down line somewhere else!

The hotel was very clean, the bed was extremely comfortable, but on check-in we had a hard time understanding the man at the front desk (plus he was in training by himself). The valet was much more helpful as well as the bellman. They did make us feel welcomed. Besides the mixup on the front desk, I would stay their again.
