Good Value, great location

Overall this was a great place to stay. My only complaint was that the air conditioning made a horrific noise each time it came on and also when it turned off. Had I not been so tired each night (from experiencing New Orleans during the day), this would have kept me from sleeping. The hotel was full during my stay, so there wasn't much chance of me getting another room. Overall, a good value and a terrific location. Just do something about the central air system. I'll bring ear plugs next time.

Great location within walking distance to shopping, IMAX, and dining. Some drunk guy banged on our door at 6 a.m. so we left early. It took 3 days for the hotel to remove the hold from our debit card. Breakfast was good and the hotel was very clean.

Not what I expected

Rooms are extremely small and not what I would call clean or comfortable. We had an ant problem which took 2 days to get resoved which was to move to another room, not any better than the last. Staff overall was rude and uninterested. We had a very difficult time getting towels and wash clothes, they said they were in the laundry....everytime we asked! We had to ask for toilet paper and soap. they do not stock on a daily basis. I would not stay at this Hotel again. I would rather pay a few extra dollars for a Hotel with at least a staff willing to make your stay comfortable.

Good but don't be surprised...

I stayed here during the Thanksgiving holidays which directly coincided with the Bayou Classic weekend. The hotel is nice even after Hurricane Katrina and you don't notice any damage. The rooms are very small but very well maintained and clean. Bathroom was nice and big, but toilet ran constantly and even after notifying the staff, it still was not fixed during my stay. I guess since the hotel was packed I could not get the satisfactory service that I know Best Western offers. I had to wait an hour for towels because they said that all the towels were getting washed. Ridiculous, I know... But all in all, the stay was okay and is definitely a bargain for the location, you are a short walking distance from all the local sights and shops. The hotel offers valet parking, but for $28 per day, but there is a public parking spot directly behind the hotel, less than 200 feet which offers parking for $10 per day, the only drawback is that everytime you move your car, you are charged $10, but if you are not driving then you are okay. On a scale, I give the hotel a 8. Have fun!!!

GREAT VALUE

This is hotel is definitely worth the money! This being our first time to New Orleans, it was a stab on this pick, but it turned out great. The room was a bit small, but then again we were there to have a good time, not hang out in our room. The location is perfect. Only blocks in each direction to all the spots you want to be. The breakfast was good (and seeing that food in Nawlens is expensive, free food is great)! The security was good in room and around the hotel (doors lock at 10, so you have to use your room key to get in). The only complaint I would have had (and this is based on other people I talked to), if your going to have a car, expect to wait a long time for the valet to get it for you. I would recommend not even trying to drive in this city! So overall, it was a great time and we would most certainly stay here again.
