Pleasure Trip

Spent a week in the Tampa area on a pleasure trip and picked this hotel mainly for the low rate. It was an older hotel, but the rooms were sufficient and the pool area very nice and clean. Microwave and refrigerator in the room got maximum use as did the in-room safe. If you're looking for fancy this is not your place, but for basic accomodations it was more than adequate. The only problem was the construction of the main highway which made it tricky to get to the hotel, but once we figured that out getting to restaurants and the beach was no problem.

This is what we found on a three night stay...
Three lamps did not work
The TV said Econo Lodge when it turned on
Carpet was dirty
Old coffee filter and grounds upon arrival was still in coffee maker from previous stay
Shower curtain was dirty
Spa/Shower area was dirty
Alarm clock did not work properly
Continental breakfast was toast and warm milk for cereal
Vanity light did not work
Found bugs near the mini fridge
No room service on Saturday... needed to get our own towels
Misleading

The first thing you see walking in the room is that the queen bed is really a double. I tried to point this out to the manager, but he inssisted it's a queen. I wonder if their double beds are really twins. Otherwise, the bathroom was clean though the sink outside it and the window wouldn't lock. The bedspreads had cigarette burns and smelled. Big room with big fridge.

This motel is probably under-rated. Although the hotel is an older establishment, it is extremely well maintained. My room had a work desk, king bed, sofa, chair, table, table, refrigerator, and microwave. Wireless internet is available and it works! This was one of the nicest places that I stayed on a recent trip to Florida. The pool and spa were spotless. And, by the way, the staff was very friendly and helpful.
