This was my first stay at Edgewater. I will definitely recommend it to others and I will stay there again as well. Hopefully, sooner rather than later. Thank you! Loved it!
Poor Customer Service

When we registered by phone with the registration office, we requested some specifice, ocean front, hight up in one of the towers. When we got there to check in we got a room behind the lagoon pool (barely able to see the ocean because of a tree off the balcony) on the second floor (first floor of rooms). When we went backto the office to tell them we didn't get the room we requested the man's attitude was too bad there are no other rooms (confirmed by the manager). However, we contacted reservations and found there was a room like we requested. After going back to the office, the manager who was polite was able to switch us. However, after being treated so badly and the I don't give a care attitude by the desk personel, we had a sour taste. Other than that the property was okay. We will probably stay somewhere else next time.
Very Disappointed - not worth the time or money

I was very disappointed with my time at Edgewater. I had requested a mid to upper floor with a gulf view and was placed on the first floor with 90 % of my view obstructed by big, thick palm trees. There were also various inconveniences with the room. You could not cook on the stove, the electric elements did not fit in the drip pans, so they were at steep incline. The kitchen lights were fluorescent and annoyingly flickered the whole stay. The bathroom was very dark and in need of a total remodel. The toilet was constantly trying to overflow. As soon as we noticed these things, we called the front desk and spoke to several ppl to try and get another room, but they refused. Our vacation was based around my daughter's birthday, and we were all very disappointed.
We love this place!

We have been to Edgewater 5 times (out of our 8 visits to PCB). The lagoon pool is second-to-none (and that's why the kids want to keep going over and over again). They are now 13 & 11 and still only want to stay at Edgewater.
Sure, the rooms could be nicer, cleaner, etc., but they are decent and good sized (the 2-bedrooms at least). I don't drive 12 hours to Florida to stay in my room much anyway, it's all about the pool and the setting which is why we keep coming back to Edgewater! On our other visits to Panama City, we stayed at Long Beach Resort and Holiday Inn Sunspree Resort. I've looked at other hotels, but the pool keeps me, and our family, coming back to Edgewater each and every year.
Spring break with Teens

I really do not understand some of the gripes that a few people have written about. I took my 16 and 17 year old son and daughter along with their friends to this establishment. I have been here three times during the past two years. I have stayed at cheap places as well as lush resorts all over Florida. I've stayed at PinK Shell in fort Myers, Tradewinds Isle Grande in St. Pete and several beautilful locations in the Keys as well as the Calypso in Panama City. This being said, when you have teenagers, this is the best hotel and location to keep an eye on them. I have always stayed in a three bedroom in tower two. The rooms have always been clean and the kitchen and floor space is enormous. Our balconies were large and noise during Spring Break was unheard! The security is fantastic. They check bracelets before leaving or entering the facility from the beach. This made me feel much more secure watching over teens! The gigantic waterfall pool is not heated. However, each tower has its own pool that is heated, along with a tiki type hot tub. The water is very warm in both! The furnishings are not brand new, but they are not out-dated either. This makes it kind of nice, because with teens, you don't feel as though you are on your tip toes to make sure they don't spill their soda or get too much sand in the carpet. I was incredibly comfortable and secure. My children had a blast and met lots of other teens, while remaining safe and secure. Isn't this what its all about? The rest of you need to quit being so picky of go to the Ritz!
