Not Worth It

My husband & I were very disappointed with both the service and quality of the Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort. When we arrived, we had to settle for 2 queen beds because they overbooked the king bedrooms and once we reached our room, our air conditioning didn't work. We were moved to a second room where the maintenance man had to be called out again because the t.v. in the bedroom didn't work. We went to eat at the Cantina on the resort grounds where the cuisine was only marginal, they were out of chips at 12:45 p.m. (a bit disconcerting seeing as how it's a Mexican restaurant) and they also did not have a blender to make drinks they offered on their menu. Room service took over an hour to bring us a bowl of ice cream and a salad, so I would suggest, either going out to eat or bringing it to the room yourselves. The golf course has construction going on all around it as well, so it was difficult to have a peaceful game, maybe it will be better in the summer. Who knows? For us, the Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort is off of our list of hotels and will very likely never return there.

motel quality for hotel price but good view

Expected more from top line place. Many on-site options, but other than its size the room was really a mid-line motel. TVs high quality but controls extremely limited, e.g. no way to get closed captions. No DVD nor video player. Heat was erratic; nights get cold there. Renovations in progress, but no clear directions when looking for temporary location - never did find gift shop. View from room was very good. Better values elsewhere. Would recommend the top restaraunt for those who don't care about price - menu looked yummy and view from parking lot was spectacular.

Hilton Pointe NOT what you want!

I had a quick trip to Phoenix and the surrounding areas for the weekend. Since I wasn't going to be in town long I wanted to get an awesome Resort and Spa so that the time I spent their would be relaxing and worth the time away from site seeing. I also was extremely excited about spa services and sitting around in the great Arizona air in a nice hot tub. Neither of which came to fruition. First the hotel is not elegant nor well maintained, there was remodeling and construction everywhere and right next door to where they put us. All night I could hear staff moving in and out of the other rooms banging around. Which is odd since the place is rather sprawling. The hot tub is cramped and other guests are allowed to smoke in it, filling the air with clouds of grey. The view, which we were told is spectacular from the room was littered with telephone poles and their lines. The dining room was so lack luster for breakfast that we went elsewhere, even considering Denny's a better alternative. I was very disappointed with this Hilton, it is good enough if you want something a bit better from a average hotel but it is definitely not resort quality. It is also not located in the best area and the drive to other areas was a real pain. My best advice: Book elsewhere, we drove by some beautiful, quality resorts - you can do MUCH better!

Wonderful place to stay

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Got lots of exercise just walking up and down stairs (hotel is built into side of cliffs). Beautiful location, good food, wonderful staff, clean room, awesome swimming pools - our vacation was perfect at this hotel. They even left a bottle of French champagne on ice in our room for celebrating my husband's birthday. Only problem we had was with a noisy A/C unit on the roof and we had a second floor room right under it...but nothing a set of ear plugs didn't fix. I'm sure if we'd have asked to be moved, they would have been more than happy to move us. We would definitely stay again.

There were numerous pools with plenty of seating, great atmosphere, very pleasant staff, minimal wait at restauants, centrally located in Phoenix.
