Marriott Marvelous

As always you can expect a good room and good service. When I arrived the first room we were asigned had only one bed, the internet showed two Queens for the price of Residence Inn. The Residence Inn brand is very spacious and is meant o be more fo a small apartment for people who are staying for extended periods. Kind of like Extend Stay hotels. The manager on duty ...was exemplery and knows well the Marriott standard of service. No sooner than I explained the one bed and the horrible cigarette smoke ((it is a smoke free facility- but apprarently one of those staying a long time bribed the maid to not turn him in because Room reeks) but I was immediately moved to another room on the second floor, un "upgrade" according to @, but which is what I had expected in the first place. Returning late that evening we discovered that the AC was on the blink and were moved yet again...to a third room on the third floor where everything worked fine. They serve a nice full brerakfast in the morning, real eggs, bacon, sausage, a waffle iron with waffle mix, on and on and on....all good expect for the shrieking child whose mother thought her baby was soooo cute to be ruining everyone's breakfast. You know the new breed of parenting were kids must be allowed to "express" themselves lest they grow up to be repressed or twisted. Anyway, Charlottesville is always a charm. I highly recommend the C & O for the best restaurant dining in town but call ahead they book fast. Enjoy Chrlottesville.

We needed a place to stay in charlottesville, my mother was in her last days at UVA hospital, we were changing our minds daily as to what our family needs were at the time, the Inn worked with our reservations, they gave us a room in a minutes notice, very understanding letting us cancel than make new reservations without causing us any stress or penalities, they gave us a wonderful rate. We are now recommending this hotel to anyone with or without pets, we happen to be traveling with a sick cat who needed meds daily and could not be left alone, a very stressful situation in all areas.

Easy to find and clerk was helpful with a local grill for dining and Kinko's locale for doing business - also with local amusement directions.

We have stayed in Charlottesville many times and this was our 1st time at the Residence Inn - and we had a wonderful experience. Staff was exceptional, breakfast was great and location was also very good, with easy access to walk to shops and food.
