I had to report that I was freezing the whole night. The air conditioner does not shut off and will not allow you to adjust the temperature. The staff was friendly and helpful. The property is nice and hip. Parking is terribly expensive. I have paid less to valet at other hotels. The bed was large and comfortable. Room was plain but clean. There was one bathrobe in the closet and the bath amenities are always good at the W. The location is great. There are tons of restaurants and the hotel is located right accross the street from one of Atlanta's premier malls, Perimeter. i would definately stay again. Check out the suites with the full kitchens, very nice!
Ok Hotel, but not up to W standards

The hotel is clearly an old property that W is trying to upgrade. The lobby, lounge, and pool area look and feel right, but the rooms are just old. I had a 'Mega Suite' with a kitchenette, with appliances right out of 1979, and the desk / work area was cramped and the chair was unbarable for more than 45 minutes at a time.
If you have to be in the Perimeter area, it is an acceptable hotel, but there are other brands in the vicinity that have better properties. An even better solution is to stay downtown or in Buckhead, where there are many hotels that are really beautiful and good value for the money.
Atlanta W a big disappointment do not stay there

One of the reasons this hotel was selected was the "W" reputation and I was very disappointed. The lobby was nice but the rest . . . my room on the 12th floor had a running toilet with severe rust stains around the bowl like it had been leaking for quite some time, the wallpaper was peeling off the walls, everything was very worn, the cabinets did not close properly, the refrigerator did not cool, the door looked like it was broken into many times, the first day the hallway was dark maintenancewith the exception of little blue lights over each door perhaps to hide the lack of maintenance. The Whatever, Whenever line seldom responded or answered the phone, request were ignored and required a trip to front desk to get response. stayed 5 days for business, would have changed hotels but policy was to charge an extra night if checking out early

The lobby (W calls it the Living Room) is a great place to work or have a drink if you do not want to stay in your room. There was a DJ on a Thursday eveniing!.
