VERY LOVELY INN

My friend and I spent 3 days at the pillars. It's a beautiful plantation style inn a block from the beach and right on the innercostal. It's away from the touristy sections, so it's quiet and peaceful. The staff is wonderful but during the day you might have problems catching someone around. The pool area is the best part and all the lounge chairs have pillows and towels for you. They have a bar area with water but I saw it needed refilled quite often. They also have a chef who will prepare dinner by the dock and my friend and I were given champagne and a wonderful dining experience at sunset overlooking the boats and mansions. It is quite expensive but worth it. It's a wonderful place for a honeymoon or peaceful getaway. A water taxi comes right up to the inn and you are a short walk away from the beach area.

Outstanding and Exquisite care and accomodations

Gorgeous setting, elegant accomodations and superb location. Nested between the ocean and the New River (waterfront stance on the River), fine accomodations, super friendly, efficient and eager staff and magnificant amenities. Not really focused as a kid-friendly destination, the setting, furnishings and attention are attentive to more settled activities. Of note is the attention to detail. For example, the stellar service and fine furnishings. I particularly enjoyed breakfast under the cabana on the dock, served on china and prepared to personal preferences. Watching the boats go by, including the shuttle ferry, and the draw bridge were fascinating performances while relaxed in a refine setting.. Sunday morning paper and overhead fan enhanced the relaxing experience. Front desk staff provided incredible service and attention to my needs and wishes... most welcoming and truly desirous that my stay was more than satisfactory. I will definitely return whenever possible -- a true delight while residing in Fort Lauderdale. Highly recommended.

Great getaway at The Pillars

The Pillars is a wonderful place to stay in Ft. Lauderdale. The location can't be beat. It is located on the intracoastal waterway near Beach Place. It is walking distance to many restaurants, shops, and just one block to the beach. There is free convenient parking right next to the hotel. The water taxi stops right at the hotel. It is a quiet alternative to the large hotels. Feels more like home. The hotel is very elegant in style and decor. It is small, quaint, and classy. It is two stories with an elegant porch along the second floor. There are tables and chairs with a candle that is lit every evening outside the rooms. There is a library, living room type lounge, and a fabulous pool/courtyard area. The chaise lounge chairs at the pool have thick cushions, towels and terry cloth cushion covers are on each chair. The pool area is very lush and garden-like. There is complementary ice water and iced tea provided in the pool area. There are tables with cushioned wicker seats for dining along the intracoastal waterway. I stayed in a queen deluxe room on the second floor. It was small, but I knew by the description on the website that it was going to be. There was a queen bed, an LCD TV, table with two chairs and a small bath. The bath looked newly renovated. The room was elegant and well decorated. Free WIFI internet service is provided. The food is very good. I had breakfast, luch and dinner during my stay and each was very good. Pricey, but to be expected at this class of hotel. There is complementary champaigne with dinner, and turn down service includes chocolates. Professional and attentive staff. Will help with anything. We will return!

Loved the hotel but was charged twice for the room and was not given back room deposit from online booking. Still trying to sort this out! Not a nice thing to come home to.
