In all my travels around the world the Barclay NYC is the best hotel I have ever stayed in. After arriving from a long day of traveling from Europe my wife and I spent a two nights at this wonderfull hotel. We had one problem with the reservations that was our agents oversight. The professional care from the doorman to the general manager was more attention than I would of truly expected. The rooms were clean and comfortable. This hotel was the icing to our end of our trip. In all of my trips into Newyork this will be my home away from home.

We had a very comfortable stay in this Hotel. The rooms were adequate for our purpose. The bed was huge. We have a kingsize at home and this one was bigger.
We didn't eat here after reading other reviews. We did however have one drink in the bar the bill was over $30 double the price of downtown bars.
Although there is a tea/coffee making facility in the room be warned only the first two are free you pay for any more.
TV reception I thought was pretty poor on some of the channels.
The housekeeping was up to scratch and no complaints there.
We would definitely stay here again if we were ever to return to the BIg Apple.

Booked for a get-away weekend. The hotel is old with small rooms but beautiful and well maintained. Thick walls eliminated any exterior noise. Comfortable bed with luxury linens. Bath supplies were high-end. Only complaint was that a check-in we were told that our request for a room with two-beds (which was one specific reason we picked this hotel) was not available. Only after I insisted that this was necessary, was a room with two-beds provided. Also prices in the restaurant/bar were extremely high.

Everything was fine for pre-holiday stay. Staff was friendly and helpful; Only problem which I didn't notice until checking my reciepts: the restaurant and bar bills incuded a 15% gratuity, but appeared like any other resaurant bill, with a line for tips as well. We ended up tipping 35%, way too much, expecially for cocktails sitting at the bar.

fabulous hotel very reasonable rates, beautiful rooms, extremely high and over priced buffett breakfast. (i let my daughter pay with out checking the individual cost for the breakfast buffett because she wanted to help me and we nearly fell over 4 persons $130. way to high. drinks at the bar were also to high but i understand where we were. but the food is unreasonable
everything else was super.............(next time we go we will eat breakfast at the nearby deli. we realize that mant people can afford this luxury but to me its just not reasonable. it prevents many visitors to alter trips, cancel or seek other ways to feed there family. i just believe that service should not just end with clean rooms and big smiles.
