The Peery Hotel - Salt Lake City

This is an amazing place. This hotel was built around 1910 and has been restored to it's former charm and grand style. According to information at the hotel it is the only property in the state of Utah that is on the Historic Hotels of America. I have been to several other old restored hotels that are part of the Historic Hotels of America, and the Peery is one of the best. The bed was excellent. The hotel was within close walking distance to downtown. It was within a block of a very fine steakhouse located in the Hilton. Parking was by pass in a lot across the street. The room had a very nice bath. It had the wash basin out in the bedroom, which was like it would have been long ago. The down conforter was nice and the pillows were very nice down. All in all a very romantic location. My wife liked it nearly as much as the Strater Hotel in Durango. We would stay there again.
A Working Vacation

This visit to SLC was a working vacation with little time spent in the hotel, however, it was a pleasure to return in the evening to a clean, comfortable suite with a very comfortable bed. The morning papers and the coffee (sometimes very weak) were appreciated, and the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff were a plus. Would stay there again if the price is right.
Wonderful Experience

We checked in and were given one of the small rooms, and since we were staying 5 nights we were moved to a more nomal size room that was great. Even the small ones are fine for a night, but when you can get to the toilet, desk, and sink with one giant step from the bed it won't work for long stay. Ask for the larger room if possible. Aside from those small rooms the hotel is fantastic. Staff was very helpful, and the valet parking is worth the fee and tips. You can walk everywhere you need to, and if you need a car or cab it is very close to the airport. Not to crazy about the temperpedic type matress as you just end up in a hole and don't move around, which may work for astronauts, but not for earth bound humans. Very peaceful, no noise, and will consider this our base of operations when we return.

I loved this hotel! My Husband and I stayed there because we had to be at the SLC airport early in the morning and didn't want to have to wake up as early. The room was so nice and the bed was wonderful!! I am so happy with the hotel and the service of the staff. I would stay there again!
PLEASANT SURPRISE

What a pleasant surprise when we pulled up. Everything was better than I had imagined! The service was wonderful, the lobby absolutely beautiful, the room large and very sunny. We only stayed one night with our two children for a quick tour of SLC after a 5-day ski trip, but I was so pleased with my choice. Great location, great price and so much nicer than your run-of-the-mill large chain hotel. Would highly recommend to leisure and business travelers alike.
