Great Hotel close to the action

I stayed here with my parents for the weekend. It was great to be within walking distance of Beale Street, the Gibson guitar factory, the Civil Rights Museum, the Main Street Trolley, and many other attractions. The room was very nice. We had a Queen bed with a pull-out couch. The room had a a kitchenette area and the room was multi-layered with a privacy wall between the bed and the living room area. Very unique. The hotel itself is beautiful. It has been taken very good care of. It's old time beauty and been restored wonderfully. Beautiful lobby. Also had a nice breakfast buffet in the am.

The best hotel stay that I have ever experienced.

The suite was excellent in every way - far exceeded our expectations. The staff was so helpful - advised us where to eat with children - absolutely perfect. On the day it drizzled, front desk manager stopped us and provided unbrellas! Breakfast was delicious - great coffee. The hot tub was absolutely divine. Housekeeping was so gracious. Just a lovely stay. Valet very prompt. Great place for a family. I can hardly wait to go back.

A wonderful hotel. The location couldn't be better. The staff was always asking how things were going. We had the car valet parked and the attendent would ask every evening if we the the car the next morning, as he would have it ready at the front door for us. The breakfast and evening cocktail hour was extraordinary. the rooms were always cleaned in a timely manner. I would stay here again without a doubt.

Good weekend stay

My wife & I stayed here for a weekend with our baby. Though a suite, our first room was very small. The fire escape layout revealed that we were in a corner room which was literally half the size of the normal rooms. We asked for a bigger room and thankfully they accommodated and also provided a crib (we had requested in advance, but they still struggled to find one). Once settled, the room was very nice, multi leveled and nice view of the River and downtown. Kitchen, two tvs, lovely bed, everything was great, even the crib. The staff was helpful and kind. Overally a good stay and nice quiet hotel. The location is pretty ideal, a block from the trolley rail line, and a couple blocks from all the downtown happenings and Beale Street. The only downside is the expense of the valet parking and the inconvenience of it. We typically waited 20 minutes for our vehicle b/c they only had one guy working there. Others in our group had similar issues. Not a great convenience for $15/day. It is downtown so parking is tight, but I think there was cheaper public parking nearby (we did valet b/c of the baby).

Getaway weekend

I live in Memphis and wanted to get away . The room was nice, clean and very comfortable. We went up on the roof to use the hot tub and it was so hot you could not put your foot in it. We walked next door to McEwen's for coffee and dessert that was very yummy. Breakfast at the hotel buffet was typical of a hot buffet, but area needed cleaning and the employees were all eating and helping themselves. We left there and took coffee and the paper on the roof and had an enjoyable morning just watching the river and feeling the wind.
