I can't speak highly enough of this place and am going back in January to see the humpback whale migration. Rooms are oceanfront vs. beachfront. The surf sounds like it's right in your room you're so close. The sunsets? Fugeddaboutit! Unbeatable! Spotless, island decor, all the amenities of home including washer/dryer and full kitchen. Friendly, helpful staff. The drive to Lahaina and East Maui was one of the pleasures for me...coastal highway under a tropical sun in a convertible...what could be better? Two Big Thumbs Up!

We've been their twice and have our third trip planned for July 2007. If you're looking for a lot of activity, cocktail lounges, restaurants, etc this ISN'T the palce for you. If you want a very quiet and relaxing vacation with Maui's best ocean view, this is your location.

No frills ? small pool, no poolside service, shops or restaurants. Clean, quiet, perfect room and private lanai. Unbeatable for those who value the closest ocean view. Kitchen had everything we needed for cooking except an egg poacher. Nice supermarket, dive shop, Italian restaurant (excellent pizza), and small local bar in shopping center within walking distance. Guests get a "charge" card to use for neighboring hotel restaurants. We will stay at the Mahana every time we visit Maui. Definitely recommended.

If you are expecting your accomodations to have plenty of onsite activities and services, this is not the place for you. If you are looking for a place to stay that allows you to just relax, this is the place for you. All of the rooms are oceanfront with beautiful views of the ocean. The susets views are awesome. Our kitchen had all the basics. There are no grocery staples at all. There is a grocery store within a mile. The bed in our condo was comfortable. The sofa was not comfortable, The Mahana was a great place to stay.

What a wonderful experience! Beautiful facilities, all ocean front views from the rooms, private patios (lanai) and miles of romantic soft sand beaches. People staying at the Ritz where jealous of us! Our room had a full kitchen, dishwasher and washer & dryer. Saved time and money. Also the Mahana is close to all the attractions and shopping. We are planning on coming back!
