Before September my family, friends and I have stayed here a number of times. Loved the staff. Rooms were always clean. The breakfast was satisfactory to good. Good location. But when we had to evacuate for Hurricane Ike we were charged an inflated rate. A couple of weekends before we were charged $ *.00/ night, but the week of Ike the charge was over $ */ night. We haven't been back. In a time of crisis this added to our stress.

We rode in on motorcycle, after visting San Antonio, I will never stay at San Antonio River Walk again! Rude staff there !! The moment we checked in we were greeted with "Welcome to Austin"', which is the nicest thing someone could have said to us after a long hot ride.We arrived at our room opened the door and was wowed by the room, large bath ,nice bed.
Restruants very near, was guided by staff to the best locations.
When checking out we had gotten water for our ride home, which we were told "on the house",and was told "Have a nice ride "! After eight days on a bike, friendliness counts!!
I will book at Springhill Suites again!!

We stayed here while visiting family in the Austin area. Overall a very good value for the money. The breakfast buffet is excellent with a well-stocked variety of food. Location is good, close to the expressway and shopping. It's a little tricky to find though, primarily because of Austin's confusing road system.
The room was a bit smaller than I expected for a suite hotel, but comfortable with a separate sitting area and small kitchen complete with microwave oven and refrigerator.
Our ground floor room was very quite and the bed was extremely comfortable. Bathroom is small but has a separate sink and vanity area. Our room tended to get a bit musty but the air conditioning quickly took care of that and it wasn't a real issue.
I also enjoyed using the business center and the room had free computer access via an ethernet connection. A very pleasant surprise was free local calls, which many hotels charge for.
Staff was helpful when we had a slight problem with the hold they put on our credit card. They took care of it immediately and called us to let us know when it had been cleared up.
All in all a very pleasand experience and we would definitely return.
My only caution is to make sure you know how to find the hotel because the Austin freeway system makes it hard to get too. Once you do, though, you'll be glad you did.
