Good and Bad

The only title I could think of for this hotel is GOOD and BAD. 1/2 the staff was wonderful, the other 1/2 was awful. They messed up on our room, our names, phone calls that came in (we never received), 1/2 the staff seemed very confused. The room was cleaned well or was barely cleaned at all. One night though I got there and there was hair (from all body parts...) in my bed!!! They NEVER CHANGED THE SHEETS FROM THE PREVIOUS GUEST! So gross! I called down to the front desk and a love;y gentleman brought up new sheets and when we took off the sheets the mattress pad was COVERED in all sorts of hair. It was the most disgusting thing I ever saw in my life...I gagged! Literally! He was mortified. I think if this hotel had better management that it could be great. BUT it is lacking in supervision thus the inconsistant staff etc...
An efficient economical hotel in the heart of London

This hotel wins you over with its excellent location, outstanding value, and businesslike efficiency. The room I stayed in was comfortable and equipped with all the necessities for a business traveller - if you don't have a power adapter, don't worry - my desk had plugs for almost every major country. I do wish the WiFi was free, I find it mildly irritating that they charge for it, but given the room rate, I suppose I can't complain. The same goes for the lack of an included breakfast, however, with Starbucks only a few doors away, that's my preferred breakfast option anyway. All in all, you will not be disappointed at the Sherlock Holmes Hotel.

We arrived from the states at 6:35 am and the staff worked hard to get us into our room ahead of check-in time. We had a great traditional "English" breakfast while we waited and the concierge helped us plan a tour of London for the day. The room was wonderful.... the air worked fine, it was very clean and had a real fancy bath which included a whirlpool tub and very modern, provided 110 outlets and the bed was so nice. Next morning headed out for our cruise ship.*****

Had a great stay here. Location excellent, close to Baker Street stop. If you prefer a quiet area, this may not be for you b/c it is right on Baker St. and is busy. But for those who like to feel a part of a city and want a more active location, it's great. Lots of restaurants, shops, etc. in walking distance. Also felt safe here b/c it was so busy. But room was quiet and no street noise. Hotel is small, but nice, modern & updated. Rooms are decent-sized for 1 or 2 people. Bathroom is modern, shower is VERY small, but not a big deal to me. Would stay here again.
Enjoyed our stay

Booked at a discount (72GBP) which I thought was a great value. Nice location, near Baker Street station. Really comfortable room and modern, chic bathroom. Read first review, and really baffled. Have stayed in three london hotels, and this was our favorite.
