I came upon Hotel Paracas via an internet search of the peruvian coast. www.hotelparacas.com. Ormeno bus will take you directly from Lima to this 50 year-old resort. This was our first stop in Peru and we wanted to relax so we made it our base to see sights along the coast. The staff was VERY helpful. Most business was conducted in Spanish. Every amenity is offered. The hotel has a small museum, offeres cruises to the ballesta islands, flights over the nazca lines, tours of the paracas reserve, swimming pools, tennis, sailing, and dune buggy rides. We were offered a honeymoon package that provided us with a beautiful seaside room, champange, drinks and all of our meals. The scent of the bay - at times rather organic- isn't much of a problem as the breeze frequently shifts. The rooms have surpisingly effective air fresheners if the night is still. Overall, it was a perfect spot to relax and heal those wedding blisters prior to heading on. We encountered many Southamericans while there, but only one other American or European couple. So although this was a resort, we were exposed more to Spanish language and peruivan food here than on any other part of our trip.
