WOW! That was Bad!

We booked one week at the Orange Tree in February of this year, we stayed 2 nights and checked out. The room was awful. First of all the air condition did not work and the room smelled bad. It definately needed to be updated. The wall paper was coming off in places and there was duct tape on the wall in the bathroom. Honestly, I was afraid to unpack our suitcases, we didn't! The morning we checked out the was a huge bug crawling on the bed. Not a pleasant experience. The Gill's

Nice place, but overall - not a good experience

When we arrived, they had our reservation, which is always a good sign. But we were immediately asked if we wanted to upgrade to one of the newly remodeled rooms. The staff explained that the new rooms had new carpets, flat screen TV's etc. I guess that the other rooms had old carpets and tube TV's etc. The upgrade was quoted at $20/night more. This made me wonder what the star rating was for the Orange Tree in the website? Did this star rating refer to the new or old rooms? We did decide on the upgraded room - another $80 for four nights. When we got to the room and tried to connect our laptop to the wireless, we discovered that this service is an additional $9.95/day. O.K. lets just add another $40 to this room. I guess this is not such a big deal, but I'm used to getting high speed wireless for free. The room seemed large, the linens were nice etc. We had a full size refrigerator and a nice microwave. Both of the flat screen TV's were small, especially the one in the bedroom - it must have been 15" or less. The first night we did not sleep well, because we couldn't get the temperature down low enough. The next day, we couldn't get the room warm enough. A call to the front desk resulted in a quick response by someone from engineering, who fiddled with something and made some comment about the system being inferior in some way and that there was only so much that they could do. Our biggest disappointment came when we checked out. We were told that their computers were down and they couldn't give us a receipt. I reminded them that our room was prepaid via. Travelocity...

Great stay at Orange Tree!

We stayed at the Orange Tree for a week before Christmas and loved it. Our room was a huge king suite and the bed was marvelous. We asked for a room close to parking and on the second floor and it wasn't a problem. Our room was not renovated but was great just the same. Loved all the space, 3 televisions, a huge bathroom with walk-in shower and a little fridge, coffee pot and microwave. Maid service was good, pool attractive and the golfing was okay. We really liked the location - convenient to everything. Every room has either a balcony or a patio. We didn't dine at the Orange Tree but probably would when we make a return visit. The staff was helpful and the grounds beautiful. We especially loved how QUIET it was for sleeping. Fitness center was disappointing.

I highly recommend the Orange Tree Golf Resort. The rooms are unlike any other and the staff are very kind and helpful. We were put in a fabulous room, right by the pool, and had a newspaper outside of the door Sat and Sun mornings. It's close to Scottsdale and Paradise Valley shopping area. All in all, a great time!

Great Vacation Spot

The rooms were very clean and excellent room service including evening turn down and replace towels, etc. We had a King Suite and there was plenty of room and it included a jaccuzi tub. The mattress was the most comfortable that I have ever slept on. The golf course was OK; but I was hoping for better at that price. It also played very slow because there were many less than average golfers on the course. Weekend entertainment was great. I would stay there again; but would probably golf somewhere different and go out for dinner most of the time.
