Description: We wanted to stay cheaply in a hotel in the heart of downtown Vancouver, and from our web search, Bosman's seemed perfect to fit both criteria. Upon driving through downtown Vancouver, we easily found the small motor hotel on the left on one-way Howe Street. The hotel has a parking lot with complimentary parking for guests. We parked so we could see our car from the window of our room, which made us feel more secure since we had been warned several times about car break-ins. We checked in at the tiny lobby with 2 chairs and took the single elevator to our floor. There are a total of 4 floors and 100 rooms. Our room had a good amount of space and comfortably fit 2 double beds, a desk and chair, another small table with 2 chairs, and an entertainment center with a TV. The heavy burgundy drapes matched the wood furniture. The room became very dark when the curtains were drawn closed, but there was plenty of light coming in when they were open. The bathroom appeared very clean and had a shelf for amenities leaving the sink clear of clutter plus a hairdryer.
Supposedly there is an outdoor heated pool, a good selling point, but it is only open during the summer. The best aspect of Bosman's is definitely its convenient location and this is overly apparent in its brochure which uses most of its space noting the closeness of its location to sightseeing areas. It also has a good web site Bosman's Hotel which provides links to local restaurants, shops and nightlife as well as links for transportation and weather. We were pleased with this clean, quiet, comfortable, convenient, affordable motor hotel and would easily recommend it to those on a budget looking for a place to stay in the heart of downtown.
