Location, Location, Location

My husband and I stayed here after our cruise left us off. We had never been to San Diego and since we didn't have a car we wanted to be in town so we could walk. This hotel is the perfect location for getting around. The room was clean and huge. We had a Deluxe King room and we requested a "quiet" room. We didn't have much of a view but the room was quiet. The only two complaints I had was that the sink in the bathroom didn't drain well and they had a louvered door that slid across the bathroom door, would have preferred a solid pocket door for those of us who have privacy issues. There was a large flat screen tv in our room as well as free internet access and a port for your ipod in the room. Also there was a DVD player in the room. The staff was very courteous. We didn't eat at the hotel but everything is close by. The hotel was just renovated so everything is nice and new. We heard no noise from the bus station across the street, We stayed for 3 nights. There are some weird characters in every large city and San Diego has it's share but we didn't find any around our hotel. We loved the city and we would certainly stay in the Bristol again. I thought the price we paid for the room was good as the location was great. We walked a block (short blocks) and a half to pick up the old town trolley and the restaurants are about 2 blocks away. If you want a public transportation bus it's steps away.

The Shining

This hotel reminded me of the hotel in the movie The Shining. It is right across the street from the bus station. Interesting people are hanging around. They do not have a drink machine in the hotel for customers. They tell you to walk down the street to the 7-eleven. There was no security bar on the door which made me feel uncomfortable. The walls are very thin. The hotel itself is spooky. You cannot get coffee before 630am and the ice machines are only on 3rd and 8th floors. However, the room was clean, but the comforter was a little faded.

This hotel is in a great location and the staff is really friendly. The colorful rooms and hallways add a nice touch to the hotel. The building appears to be fairly old, but it is kept clean.

The style of the hotel is great. It is modern, colorful and fun with cool artwork. It is in a great location. However, the room faced the Greyhound bus starion which was a terrrible view and we could only hear the noise and loud speaker from the station, ven with the windows closed. I had also requested a non smoking room, and pepople had def. smoked in the room before. For the price of the hotel, I dont think it has enough to offer.
