Damned with faint praise

When I read the reviews, I had visions of the Bates Motel.
We were quite pleased with the accomodation. For the money, it provided great value. The rooms were clean, and comfortable.
Mind you, it wasn't the Marriot or the Hilton, but it was better than the Quality Inn we stayed in in Troy on the way down.
We spent 5 days shooting at Elk Creek in the US Open and were well pleased with the whole trip.

This place was a bit creepy. We tried doing laundry and after running the dryer twice it still did not dry our clothes. The pool was in complete shade except mid-day but it was clean. Parking was also a bit of a nusance- there was no parking infront of our room just across the road. Finding the hotel was also tricky- it seems that the sign is under construction - hopefully, and Frankfort in general was a mess of one way streets. No fun. The room was clean and freezing, the beds were not comfortable. Our trip was a week long each night in a new spot and this was definately my worst nights sleep.
This hotel is embarrasing

"This hotel was scary and weird..I am never going to rent a hotel off the internet again.Like my daughter said..it looked like an ax muderer hotel. It was in a decreped area with chunks of the building falling off. The beds were very uncomfortable, the heater had one speed..hot and dry.The lock was rusty and brokenSpend a little more money and stay in a better hotel.we checked out a day early and left this hotel to the truckers."

It smelled musty, and closed up. The wallpaper was peeling from the walls. The ceiling had water marks. The best feature was the proximity of local restaraunts and stores.
