GREAT STAY

Very good experience! Room was clean and roomy! Proximity to beach was excellent! Bed was very comfortable! Great bathroom w/ huge 2 person shower! Breakfast was great with plenty of choices! Hotel staff was kind and helpful! Elevator was a little slow {only 1 for all four floors} but stairs were easy! Will stay again if in the vicinity!

Just a Hotel

After reading traveler reviews, taking virtual tours, and weighing hotel amenities, I finally decided the Comfort Suites was the place to stay on North Padre Island. We paid a bit more to be at the hotel versus others in the area during our 4-night stay, and in the end, I can honestly say that I wouldn't stay there again for the same price ($149-159 per night). Our ocean view room was nice, but of course, partially obstructed by the Holiday Inn Sunspree Resort across the street. The location was close to the beach, which was covered in plankton but uncrowded and overall wonderfully relaxing. But the hotel was nothing special... The "double-pillow top" beds were comfortable enough, but not because they were high quality matresses (the second pillow-top was due to a thick mattress pad). We had a battle with a cockroach the last night of our stay, which emerged from the "fresh" pile of towels in our bathroom; note that cockroaches should probably be expected in any beach town. The continental breakfast was convenient, but all four mornings we were there, the fruit was wilted and brusied; also, the breakfast was without easy/extra options such as peanut butter, oatmeal or any variety of beverages (hot chocolate, teas, etc)... Also, the small pool looked nice with its fountains, but it was freezing (it may seem like the Texas heat would do the job, but that wasn't the case). And the fitness room equipment was not at all impressive either, with just two treadmills and a bike. If I was going to do the "beach vacation" all over again, I would traverse the extra 30 miles north to Port Aransas, which (I discovered late in our vacation) has many full-service beachfront resorts and also much cleaner beaches.

Great Hotel for the money

3 star hotel for great price. Very clean & new!! Comfortable Pillow-top mattress and nice rooms with microwave, mini-fridge, hairdryer, etc, as advertised. Only draw back is fitness room (2 treadmills and 1 stationary bike). Walk or drive to beach. Already planning my next trip to Padre and will definately stay here!!

Hotel is fairly new and close to beach!

The hotel was clean, comfortable, and within walking distance from the beach. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I will choose this hotel everytime I go to Padre due to price, location, cleaniless, and comfort.

This hotel was nice. We only stayed 2 nights, but we wished we had stayed a week. The pool is kind of small, full of little kids. The breakfast room is small, but they open up conference rooms for additional seating. The breakfast was excellent, with egg omelettes, hot sausage, and belgian waffles in the shape of Texas. They also served yogurt and cereal, and other breads and pastry. The hotel is across the street from the beach, but there is another hotel in front of it. We still had a nice gulf view from our windows and patio, but the walk to the beach is across the street, and through the parking lot of the hotel across the street. Not bad, though. There's not much to do on the island other than the beach and the fishing.
