This can not be a true Sheraton Hotel

I am a starwood guest member and try to stay at Sheratons all the time. I love the comfort and quality of most Starwood Hotels. My family stayed there about a year ago. I have always been very pleased with every Sheraton and that is why I usually try to choose Sheraton when traveling for both pleasure and business. I have been totally happy and then I stayed at this one. Wow I just couldn't believe it! It needed serious renovations and smelled of heavy perfume. Everything that should be quality from the rooms, beds, towels, soaps, food...it was all cheapened.
We are getting ready to go back to Columbia in a few weeks and while searching I came across this hotel and was reminded of my horrific stay and had to write a review because I think it is important that people know what they are getting before spending their money on what they feel is a Sheraton Hotel. If you are looking for the class, quality and comfort that most Sheratons offer do not stay at this hotel. This CAN NOT be a true Sheraton hotel!!! Some where along the way it must have changed ownership because they took the quality of a true Sheraton and totally cheapened and ruined this hotel. Of course the cost remains the same. I highly recommend not staying in this hotel.

I recently stayed at the Sheraton columbia for business and it was awesome. The staff were very kind and accomodating. Everyone I past said hello and asked if everything was ok with my stay.
I stayed in a newly renovated room and wow what a difference. I will most defintely stay here again and ask to be in the lodge section.

Very disappointed in a sheraton hotel. This hotel is no three star and should be down graded to a one star. We picked the hotel because of the rating and area. It is located midway between d.C. And annapolis and baltimore. That is the only thing it has going. We had to change rooms because of the broken mirror, smell in the room (possible mold) and the heavy perfume smell they would spray daily. On monday they sprayed the room, but never cleaned it!!!! Beds were a mess and dirty towels were in the bath tub. We then were changed to another room and had to walk around dirty linens and glasses in the hall for over three hours. No maid cart, just dirty linens and towels in a pile on the carpeting. We complained again and then called sheraton corp. We are still waiting for a reply from them.

I attempted 3 rooms in this hotel, two were dirty; the floors, sheets, bathroom, chairs, etc. One of the rooms, the door was lodged shut with no explaination. The final room I landed in was dirty, but not as dirty as the first room. I was placed in a joined room where I could hear everything my neighbor was up to. I would not reccommend this hotel unless you need a place within walking distance to the mall.

This is a nice Sheraton. This is right next to the Columbia Mall and some rooms have a view of the lake. The staff is nice. They offer high speed internet via Wayport for $10.45/day.
