Loved the hotel - friendly helpful staff, clean rooms, wonderful breakfast and cocktails. Would stay in this quiet area of NYC again. A bit of a walk to the subway, but not too bad. Forced me to finally learn how to manage the NYC subway. I usually stay mid-town, but the noise bothers us, we live in a quiet area. It was wonderful having the two rooms, the cost dfor this would have been prohibitive in mid-town. Just be prepared to pay more taxi fares than you would if you stayed in a mid-town location, but even going to the upper area of town will be about $ 15- $20. Thiis is important at night because the walk from the subway is about 7 minutes and there are not as many people around at night as in the day. As a woman I felt safer taking the cab at night.

The hotel was excellent. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful. The Happy hour was very nice and the made to order breakfast was great. The hotel was extremely close to Ground Zero and St. Paul's chapel. The hotel is a little way to Time Square and surrounding attractions, so plan on spending some money on cab fare. I would definitely consider this property again.
Would stay again

My husband and I stood one night at the hotel and from the time of check-in to checking-out
it was great. Friendly staff, room quality excellent. For the money you can't go wrong. The only thing its quite a walk to the trains....but the cabs are out front.

I traveled with my husband and three children all under the age of 7. The service was impeccable. The staff was professional and informed. Their recommendations, directions were invaluable to us. Our dream was to attend the Macy's parade. Thanks to the concierge his insight allowed us to see the parade from a vantage point. Our stay was from Nov. 22- 28, 2008. I have stayed in many Embassy Suites but this one tops my list. The price was reasonable and we were treated like royality. The weather and three children didn't allow us to dine out as much as we would like to the room service was great. The food was fresh and well prepared. I have recommended this restaurant to all my friends and I will be returning this summer. After 12 years away from the big apple it was great to be back and feel safe, welcome and valued.

We stayed Dec 27- Dec 29 ,2008.The view of the harbor is not appropriate. We booked a harbor view , what we got is a view of the building across the street and and a memorial; which is directly in front of the hotel. The only view of the harbor has to be on the top floor.
The decor is modern, bright colors..staff is polite, The Hotel offers a hot breakfast buffett. A good meal ; but the serving space is crowded,A plus is the managers reception, nightly at 5:30- 7:30 PM,which is an open bar with appetizers.
The subway is quite a walk, but not too bad. Andy the evening concerige was helpful in finding a nice resturant. The area the hotel is located is nice ; felt safe, Cabs are avaible.
I booked this with an online travel package. I would book this hotel again .I would not pay full price for the room.
