Not too bad, good price for downtown location

We arrived to find the hotel under construction and were not notified beforehand, which was a surprise. We did get a lower rate because of the construction, but everything was torn up. The pool was gross, so don't plan on swimming. There were no ice dispensers on the floors and you have to go to the kitchen near the lobby to get ice. However, the rooms themselves weren't too bad; the beds were comfortable and the room was clean. Also there is a good continental breakfast. Parking is $10 a day and it's in a gated parking garage. Because of the area I wouldn't recommend walking anywhere in the evening, but during the day is fine. Overall, I think the hotel was worth the low price and it suited our needs; I think it will be nice once the construction is finished.

The hotel was nice but you could tell it was older. The rooms were nice size and the beds were comfortable. I would not recommend the pool. Our room was over it and you could see how dirty it was. They started cleaning it the first night there but by the 3rd morning when we left it still was not completed. The staff was friendly though. The vending machine was empty but the staff did offer the complimentary shuttle to take us to the nearest store for snacks. The hot breakfast was okay, I've had better but I've also had much worse. Overall it was a good experience and I would stay there again if I were going to that part of Dallas.

Beautiful Hotel, not so great location

We arrived at the West End. The room was very nice and the bed the most comfortable of anywhere I have ever stayed. We walked down to Dealy Plaza (very close) but on the return went to the backside of the hotel. We were appraoched for money 3 times in a half hour. Once we figured out not to go out behind the hotel everything was fine.

Great customer service; yet, pay to park

Overall, I enjoyed our stay. Best feature was use of the hotel provided transportation to local sites. Pool on the 9th floor roof was nice; could use a hot tub. Nightly parking is $10. Hot breakfast bar was good. Bed very soft and comfy :)

Last Resort and then I might consider a park bench

Hotel is falling apart. Leaks in room. Staff's attitude has declined like the hotel. Breakfast good, but the rest of hotel is like a flop house. Have stayed there several times when part of the Hampton Inn chain. Has steadily delined. Location is poor, not best part of town.
