Great Hotel

This was my second time staying at this hotel. Even after 12yrs, their standards are still true to form on cleanliness. My only complaint is the quality of the breakfast, but what do you expect when its FREE. Embassy Suites saved us from a hotel that we had previously booked for a 3-night stay, The other hotel was so horrible, we were forced to stay the first night but immediately made reservations to stay here for the rest of the weekend.
A bit disappointing

I have stayed at numerous Embassy Suites throughout the country, and this one was the most disappointing of all! The front-desk staff was not friendly -- we asked for recommendations on restaurants, directions, etc., and we were given a printed list of restaurants with phone numbers and were told to call them for directions. On another occasion, I approached the front desk (with another staff person) to purchase stamps, and was rudely told that the hotel did not sell them and she told me to go to the post office to buy them. We waited over an hour and a half for towels in our room that Housekeeping had failed to provide for us. Also, there are no fans in the bathroom, and ours had mold growing on the ceiling. The location of the hotel is okay, but very difficult to find. Finally, the manager's reception is every evening from 5:30 to 7:30, but we arrived at 7:00 on two separate evenings only to find that the food had already been put away. The room size was great, the breakfast was okay, but overall, in comparison to other Embassy Suites, this one just didn't measure up.

The location and access to this hotel is perfect for my team's frequent visits to San Antonio and we stay 4-12 times a year. The hotel staff is excellent, can't say enough good things about them, always accommodating and they recognize frequent travelers and for those traveling alone, they make sure you are safe. The rooms are very nice and they finally have great pillows but the beds are still not that comfortable unless you like a hard bed. Couple of areas of concern: Would be nice if they would follow suit with Hampton Inn and have a "On the Run" bag breakfast for those of us who depart earlier than breakfast is served. My other comment for consideration would be the addition of other snacks besides popcorn and chex-mix....gets a little old durng a week-long trip. My only complaint is that kids are free to run all over the hotel and this is very disruptive to other guests....maybe parents need to be reminded at check-in to control their children. Would still rate this on top of my list in San Antonio!

We had a great experience staying at the Embassy Suites. We rented a car from Enterprise and it was convinently located right behind our hotel! We traveled with our 1 and 4 yr olds amd this hotel accomedated for them really well. It was great to have the kids stay in their own room and have more room to run around. We used a crib and it was brought to us immediatley upon arrival and was clean. It was also great to have a seperate sink to clean my son's bottles and the microwave and fridge were already in the room and did not have to be requested extra. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The bestt ammenity that this hotel included was the full breakfast bar. We would definetly stay here again. We had a great experience.
No Room at the Inn

If you absolutely need to have a room reserved, do not plan on staying here! I reserved 3 rooms for our employees with guaranteed late arrival to credit cards. Our travelers did not arrive until 1:30 am and the hotel was overbooked and they did NOT hold their rooms. It made a bad trip, even worst! I will not book Embassy Suites for any of our employees again and neither will out travel agent!
