Would never go back

We booked a weekend to visit our daughter at college. When we arrived, they had no record of our reservation, having made a clerical error and booked for several previous nights. Thus, they had charged us for being "no-shows". They accomodated us for the weekend, but refused to refund us for the no-show charge, nor would they apply it to the days we were actually there. Although we tried repeatedly to talk with a manager, they could never produce one, nor would one contact us while we were staying there. In fact, their whole attitude was very blase and suspicious, and it became evident they were lying to us regarding the manager's whereabouts. We immediately disputed the charge with our credit card company.
It has now been 5 months since this incident. Best Western tried once to call us a day after we checked out, but when we called back, we could again not talk with a manager to resolve this. They took a small, but potentially significant error on their part, and just blew off the whole thing, creating a story about how we had really booked 2 reservations, and neglected to cancel one. It has been frustrating! They recently issued us a credit of about one third what they owe us....very bizarre. Our credit card company has not helped in bringing this to a conclusion, but that is another story, too.
I felt funny about this place the minute I checked in, when I received such a nonplussed response to my question about their resolving the reservation and subsequent charge. I would never, never go back. They seemed to have no clue to the idea of customer relations that is standard in this country, and they tried to make us seem like the ones at fault.

Stayed for three nights, hotel was clean, staff was extremely helpful, took the time to explain the t train system and how to get around on it. Free breakfast every morning, just an all around pleasant experience. We were visiting colleges in the area and the hotel was in a central location.. One tip if at all possible park the car and take the train wherever you need to go!!

hotel was located in a very central location - close to boston, vermont, new hampshire, and maine - and close to all major highways, with plenty of free parking
hotel was clean and pleasant and located in an area with gas station, fast food, and some restaurants - and had computer/internet access (if you need to check in for flights and print boarding passes or check e-mails) in the lobby and free (i believe) internet access in the rooms
hotel has great breakfast - especially their waffles
hotel staff was very pleasant and helpful
