SECURITY NIGHTMARE

When we arrived at the hotel we were informed that their lot was full, so the valet and the front desk directed us to the lot across the street. They joked around about it being cheaper and a better deal, wefound out why. Apparently the lot across the street had been victimized several times in the past week by breakins targeting out of state vehicles and our car was broken into. We were informed that since we should have our rooms comped, but since we booked with travelocity, the hotel could not do anything for us. I was irate, the police informed us of the previous break-ins and if anyone decides to stay here, make sure you do not park in the alternate lot!!!! I will never stay here again!

Very friendly and helpful staff. Helped us get a van ride to the powerplant and gave us the number to a local pizza place. Also brought extra balnkets and pillows to our room.
Good experience in hotel with mixed reviews

Reviews I read before staying here were mixed so I was not sure what to expect. I was very pleasantly surprised.
The staff was friendly and efficient. The checkout was the fastest I've experienced. A staff member walked through the checkout line and, if you had already paid in full, noted it on his list...end of checkout.
I requested a room in the North Tower since the South Tower (apparently still under renovation) seemed to have the majority of the bad reviews. The hallway leading to the room seemd dark and not very inviting, but once in the room it was a different matter. The room was not large but certainly large enough for an overnight stay of two people. It was clean with new looking furnishings. The bathroom was also very clean. The bed was very comfortable. We were on the second floor so there was no view from the window but how many rooms in a center city hotel does.
I chose to self park at a commercial parking building across the street. It was about $* a day. Valet parking or self parking at the hotel was more expensive. The hotel does have limited space for you to park near the door while loading or unloading but it is limited. I often observed a line of cars waiting to get a space.
The Inner Harbour was withing walking distance though the area not far from the hotel appeared to be rather rough. I recommend anyone walking at night stick to the main streets or use a cab.
I would stay here again and would recommend it to anyone wanting to stay near the Inner Harbor.
A hotel in need of room care

The hotel is in a great location. There is only one restaurant and unless you go to the Inner Harbor there are few other choices. The restaurant is just ok. The main problem was the room. None of the table lamps worked nor did the clock radio. The power was out. There were no chairs or table if you wished room service. The bath faucet was broken and difficult to use. On Saturday, there was renovation noise. I would not suggest this hotel.

I thought the staff was excellent. Our room wasn't clean upon check in either, but they came up and cleaned it in a matter of minutes. The neighborhood is a little shady at night, especially when walking back from the inner harbor, but during the day time, it is bussling with business people. I thought it was a wonderful room compared to most hotels in the US. I travel abroad often and most US hotels dont compare to foreign hotels. I would recommend a stay here.
