LOCATION :
We have to break this hotel’s location rating into 2.

Excellent
The views of the downtown skyline and harbor are fantastic, specially
at night. One can just sit and enjoy the view for hours from the patio on the ground level, the harborwalk that spans the back of the hotel or better yet, one of the guest rooms facing the harbor.

Airport (Logan Int’l.) is VERY accessible, so no traffic to worry about and being late for one’s flight.

Average
Restaurant/food access is limited to what’s in the hotel as downtown
is about 6 miles away and accessible by car, cab, the water taxi or the "T" (subway train).

Because of the distance from the commercial center, it proved to be a
little bit of an inconvenience when we could not just get out of the
hotel and walk around to check out other restaurants or go back to
the hotel for a short break in between sight seeing as we would
normally do during trips.

Although the water taxi terminal is right at the back of the hotel, the
$ 10/one way or $ 17/roundtrip fare was not really savings both in
cost and time.

The best option for us was the "T" leaving the hotel for the day meant
exactly that, a whole-day’s trip, only returning to the hotel when it’s time to call it a day, which normally was before 6pm.

ACCOMMODATIONS: Excellent

Rooms facing the harbor and downtown comes with an additional premium. However, the same view can be enjoyed free elsewhere at the hotel (ex. , lounge chairs at the back of the hotel provided specifically for that).
Rooms were spacious with contemporary décor in predominantly dark chocolate and white. A long marble-topped desk spanning nearly the wall facing the bed also worked as TV stand coffee center and desk.

A 2-seater couch with 2 ottomans also serve as table/trays room service dining.

The bathroom echoed the contemporary feel of the room. Toiletries provided included, great scented shampoo, conditioner and a branded (Aquafresh) toothpaste, which, truthfully, we prefer as versus the generic toothpaste other hotels provide.

Other in-room amenities : iPod dock/clock radio / WiFi.

AMENITIES : Good

DINING :
Main dining option is basically the lobby’s Harborside Grill and Patio with the Harborside Lounge occupying the far side of the restaurant.

The restaurant/lounge has floor to ceiling glass windows facing the fantastic harbor and skyline view or one has the option to dining al-fresco on the small courtyard right outside.

GYM/INDOOR POOL :
Ground floor facing "the" view.

HARBORWALK :
A paved trail that spans the back of the hotel (goes on for a little less than a mile), great for leisurely walks or as others did, jogging.

WATER TAXI TERMINAL :
Right at the back of the hotel.

24-HR FREE HOTEL SHUTTLE :
Runs to the airport and the nearest "T" (train) terminal. Guests can just call the hotel for pick-up from the train terminal.
(Tip : Store/save the hotel’s phone # upon your departure so you can call for pick-up from the airport upon your arrival and whenever coming from the train terminal back to the hotel.)

SERVICE : Excellent

We’d have to give service thumbs up. Special mention goes to one particular waitstaff (whose name escapes me now since it’s been over a couple of months since our trip and I have misplaced some of my notes with his name on it) who, from our breakfast (on our first day) made quite an impression on us with his attitude and service and made us truly impressed that with our succeeding dining made us hope and looked for him.

The Front Desk staff were commendable as well with their fast yet friendly service. Not to be forgotten were the shuttle drivers, who were so helpful in providing us info each day for our jaunts.

Overall : Hyatt Harborside is ABOVE AVERAGE with only it’s location as versus downtown accessibility keeping us from rating it as EXCELLENT and would still recommend it.

The staff at this hotel were unbelievable! They were friendly, helpful and very informative. I would definitely stay there again when we visit Boston. I have never had such a wonderful experience with a hotel staff, as I did when I was there last November. Their shuttle service never tired of running me back and forth to the train at the airport. Thanks to all!

Service + accommodations + harbor view = Great stay!

One of the perks offered to guests is the FREE Hotel shuttle pick-up from the airport (& vice versa on flight out). Check-in was fast, the Front Desk staff very cordial. The hotel's harbor view of the Boston skyline is something to marvel at and enjoy specially at night. Rooms facing the harbor and the city comes with an added premium but the hotel grounds/patio is more than enough for hours of soaking in that view. Right outside the hotel is a walking path/jogging trail right by the harbor. Upon check-in, one negative was one of the drinking glass still had lipstick mark. Except for that dirty glass, we never had any complaints of the saisme nature and in fact, room clean-up was perfectly timed when we had left our room which, I have to add is also commendable. Restaurant/room service staff and shuttle drivers' service is exceptional! We felt special yet feeling "at home" at the same time. Overall, it's a 9 out of 10 and the only reason it's not a perfect 10 is it's location. Being farther from the city, we had to miss out on just going out and walk around downtown Boston which is a train ride or a water taxi ride away. However, the hotel's 24-hr shuttle also conveniently brings and picks up guests from the hotel to the Blue T station (train/subway).

Excellent Experience

Our stay at Hyatt Harborside was very nice. All staff were courteous and went out of their way to be helpful - even to the point of arranging outdoor furniture and assisting with family photos. The rooms were very clean, comfortable, and QUIET. Room service was excellent. Very convenient for taking the water taxi into Boston. Shuttle service to the airport was very convenient and helpful. We will look forward to returning to this hotel on our next stay in Boston.

If you want a hotel with a lot of attractions and shops near by this is not the one. There is pretty much nothing to do when you step out of the hotel except jog or walk on the scenic path of the city. True the hotel is located right across from everything in downtown boston so there are pretty good views of the city. But there are more dislikes than likes of this hotel for me and my friend. The pool is so tiny its probably a 20ft Width X a 5ft length the deepest is 4ft we didnt even bother trying to swim in that thing it. The lady at the front desk was also not very helpful on the phone. She was quite rude and impatient to us when we needed help getting to the hotel. However she was the only out of the many helpful and kind staff that was unpleasant. To sum it all up -Room not spacious even though we had the promo room. -No free breakfast, $ per person -literally right next to a airport If we could do it again we would have tried to find other hotels accessible to the T. This hotel offers free shuttle to T and sometimes you wont have to wait. the longest wait is 10 min for a shuttle.
