HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE - RECOMMENDS TO STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!

I do not recommend staying at this hotel. The area did not look or feel safe. The room was dilapidated and smelled musty. The air conditioning would not turn on and after calling the front desk, found out that they needed to activate it which they did not do when we checked in. The worst part was that I got stuck in the bathroom for almost a half hour. I shut the door and it would not open because the door knob was broken, loose, would not catch, and later noticed it had been installed backwards. I yelled to my dad and neither of us could get it open. He tried to call the front desk 4-5 times and no one answered. I happened to have my cell phone and I called the hotel but no one answered. My dad walked to the opposite side of the hotel to the front to find 2 guys at the front that were sitting there (that didn't answer the phone). He said I was locked in the bathroom and another review had said it happened to them and they laughed. They did know how to jimmy the door open with an ice pick as if it was a common occurrence. Thank goodness someone else was with me or I would have been trapped in the small humid room for an indefinite amount of time. I do not suggest staying here.

We stayed last year and loved the location and room. We just got back from a week stay today and was disappointed this time. They changed the coffee maker twice, then the door mechanism began to malfunction and could only be opened by me and my expecrt touch, finally, my son was locked in the bathroom for over 30 min due to another malfunctioning door knob. also had to move the microwave in order to plug in to use it. The staff there is polite. it's as convenient as others to the main area around the Aquarium, except there's not a bus stop right out front like the other boarding businesses at twice the price. They also have WEEKLY RATES which is rare arouind the area I checked.

Rooms were not the greatest. Not in good area of town. Towels did not smell fresh and free continenental breakfast was very sparse. Just a rundown hotel.

Clean and Comfortable, we really enjoyed the breakfast and exercise room. This is the place to stay on our next trip.

"We were aware that the hotel was being remodeled before our visit but were told that it would be finished. 1st night we had to change rooms due to no a/c. While using dryer next morning, fuse in room blew so sat in total darkness for 2 hrs before maint. man came in to re-trip fuse. No one even offered to bring us a flashlight or anything. I can't rate the dining area as there is no way I would eat anything that came out of this filthy place. We ate all of our meals off the premises. I wouldn't even want to bring food into the room to eat. Crime is also very bad in the area. "
