We spent an extended stay at The Mountain Road Resort at Stowe. I can't tell you how much we enjoyed our vacation. We were able to secure very affordable off-season rates and spent out entire stay in the new Condo - The Alpenhaus. It's perfect for our needs. Three bedrooms, new furnishings, a huge flat panel TV in the living room an d all new TV/DVD/MP3/IPOD docks all around. We absolutely love The Mountain Road Resort. One note - and we were warned about this in some detail before hand. The Alpenhaus has only one bathroom on the first floor. It was not a problem for us but I'd worry about a family with a group of teenagers who wanted serious makeup time! All in all an excellent value for the money and we will absolutely stay there again.

For those of you who don't yet know the winter in Vermont thus far is amazing! Over 165 inches have fallen in December alone! Take that Vail and Aspen! We have stayed at the Mountain Road Resort many times over the years and keep coming back. The rooms are individually decorated and have great individual flair. The bathrooms and all facilities are spotless and excellent. We love the free Wifi, indoor heated pool (now with a gigantic movies projected on the wall - kids love this!!!) the sauna, Jazucci and the ourdoor heated Jacuzzi. New this season is the Managers Wine and Cheese reception - free wine and cheese, hot appetizers and we really loved the addition of a breakfast quiche (chef prepared) to the complimentary breakfast. All in all we simply love the Mountian Road Resort. We think it's the best value in Stowe and easily compares to TopNotch or Stoweflake (except for having a restaurant). AAA!!!
