We recently made an early season ski trip to Stowe Vermont. The Mountain Road Resort at Stowe is a small resort property where each guest is treated with an amazing level of personal service. We like the close location to several restaurants (Rusty Nail, Susihi, French Bistro, etc). We also like the wholefoods type gourmet market at the foot of the driveway and the 24 hour market across the street. The rooms are larger than most similar resorts in Stowe and are all spotless and very comfortable. We like that they are pet friendly also - something that can be very hard to find in Stowe. The Mountain Road Resort at Stowe is a great value! Be sure to call the reservation line to check for the best rates as we have seen MUCH higher prices listed on online booking sites than the actual $*** rate we had. All in all it's an excellent place where you will be made to feel at home.

We checked in to the mountain road resort after peak foliage this month and had one of the most relaxing vacation stays we heve ever had at a hotel. As the hotel was virtually empty (as most hotels in Vermont are after foliage season) the staff went out of it's way to pamper us. They made us custom made to order breakfasts, offered to bring us room service, gave us complimentary wine and when we wanted to take a trip gave us local knowledge and a turn by turn itineary to the destination. FIRST CLASS SERVICE!
We will be back at the mountain road resort at Stowe again this winter!. By the way, check the hotel's website for the best rates as many times they seem to be overstated on "value" hotel booking websites.

We spent an extended stay at The Mountain Road Resort at Stowe. I can't tell you how much we enjoyed our vacation. We were able to secure very affordable off-season rates and spent out entire stay in the new Condo - The Alpenhaus. It's perfect for our needs. Three bedrooms, new furnishings, a huge flat panel TV in the living room an d all new TV/DVD/MP3/IPOD docks all around. We absolutely love The Mountain Road Resort. One note - and we were warned about this in some detail before hand. The Alpenhaus has only one bathroom on the first floor. It was not a problem for us but I'd worry about a family with a group of teenagers who wanted serious makeup time! All in all an excellent value for the money and we will absolutely stay there again.

For those of you who don't yet know the winter in Vermont thus far is amazing! Over 165 inches have fallen in December alone! Take that Vail and Aspen! We have stayed at the Mountain Road Resort many times over the years and keep coming back. The rooms are individually decorated and have great individual flair. The bathrooms and all facilities are spotless and excellent. We love the free Wifi, indoor heated pool (now with a gigantic movies projected on the wall - kids love this!!!) the sauna, Jazucci and the ourdoor heated Jacuzzi. New this season is the Managers Wine and Cheese reception - free wine and cheese, hot appetizers and we really loved the addition of a breakfast quiche (chef prepared) to the complimentary breakfast. All in all we simply love the Mountian Road Resort. We think it's the best value in Stowe and easily compares to TopNotch or Stoweflake (except for having a restaurant). AAA!!!
