Description: When most people think Omaha, they probably don't think luxurious linens and resort style hotels. That is exactly what Hilton Omaha brings however. Connected via skywalk to the ever famous CenturyLink Center, Hilton Omaha is the only 5 diamond hotel in the state of Nebraska. From the outside, the hotel looks just as nice as you might expect. Large lobbies three stories high with wall to wall windows looking out into the street and CenturyLink Center. As you walk in, the lobby is very exclusive.
To your left you will find The Liberty Tavern. A very nice lounge area with a full-service cocktail bar and staff. In the summer months, The Patio at The Liberty Tavern (as it is offically known as) is open as well. This area displays another outdoor bar with patio style seating. A fireplace in the center of the patio invites outsiders to stop by while the comfort of the seating allows them to stay. When I went, there was a $6 special on Blody Mary's. Which isn't extremely well priced but for the atmosphere and the actually quality of the cocktail, it was well worth the two I consumed.
Going on. The main lobby is very large. It is equipped with eloquent seating in different area leading up to the front desk. For under $300, the smaller room that I stayed in was actually well worth it. Being a 5 diamond hotel, paying under $300 for one night is very, very reasonable. Especially with all the action that happens right around Hilton Omaha. It is located within walking distance to TD Ameritrade Park, Creighton University's campus, the Old Market and obviously CenturyLink Center Omaha.
Entering the room, I could automatically see the difference between Homewood Suites and Hampton Inn's, Hilton's lower end hotel brands. Everything was cleaner and neater and the television was LCD and not projector or tube based. The view faced the north, which was the only complaint I have with this place. The windows facing the West and North look into large parking lots of TD Ameritrade Park and CenturyLink Center Omaha. Beyond that is the newly done Omaha mural which is very iconic and nice, but the parking lots when empty can be quite annoying to be looking at when you look out the window.
Parking is located in behind the hotel, in a several story tall parking garage. It has recently been increased in size as well as the main hotel, giving the overall appearance an even fuller and more executive look. Very fancy and is the place to stay in downtown Omaha.
