Me and friends stayed here for a birthday. It was dirty, totally in need of being redone. Stains on curtains. I've stayed in better motel 6's. I was totally disappointed. I did like the shuttle bus they had and the staff was friendly. The rooms and hallways were just plan nasty. I would not recommend it at all.

The Hotel Fort Des Moines was a very nice surprize as it is a very nostalgic as well as a historic hotel in down town Des Moines. I enjoyed my stay as it was very quiet at night. The resturant was being renovated at the time of my stay but there were plenty of choices with in walking distance to the hotel.

This is an older hotel in a downtown location. It has aged nicely and is a welcome relief from the sameness of so many hotels these days.

The Hotel is clean, spacious, and conveniently located downtown. The room was nice, with a fairly spacious tv room and separate sleeping quarters. The bed was comfortable, but the blanket felt a little cheap. Otherwise, the experience was good. The hotel staff was cordial. A plus.

My family really liked staying in this hotel, the employees were friendly and the rooms clean, plus the free parking was great. Our room either didn't have A/C or it wasn't turned on, the windows would open but there was no way to keep them up in a safe manner.
