loved our room. the staff was very personable. the breakfast bar was fabulous.
our great stay made us book another one up the road hoping for it to be just like this one!
One drawback was not being able to see it from the road. we missed it several times!
Not bad for the price in that area

There were some nice amenities in our room, chiefly involving the choice of tempered glass for the bathroom vanity and microwave/fridge area in the main room. The large vanity was espresso colored wood with the thick tempered glass top and a high end tap that came from the wall, making for a nice bathroom overall. The much vaunted Holiday Inn showerhead was a disappointment though, with insufficient water flow to rinse out shampoo as quickly as at home. Additionally, the mechanism to switch water flow from the tap to the shower is tricky, and involves pulling a part of the faucet (a ring that looks just like the normal faucet aerator) down.
The fridge and microwave were decent and clean, as were the bath and bed linens (nice thick towels, and there were enough for the three of us, based on our reservation info w/o asking). One sour note was the use of "twist" compact fluorescent bulbs in the bath in an application where the bulb is visible. They make a different sort of CFL for visible applications for a reason - the twists are ugly. The carpet also needed to be steam cleaned. There were some visible stains. The WiFi connection was so spotty it was almost useless. We had to go ask for a CAT5 cable to hook up directly - and even then the connection dropped quite a bit. Lastly, give the breakfast bar coffee a miss. Unless you like your coffee weak it will just disappoint.
For the prices in the area, and the amenities offered, I would recommend the hotel overall.
Excellent Place to Stay. No need to look elsewhere

I booked this place for my family getaway based on reviews here. I am glad I did. It is by far the best place we have stayed . The TN Aquarium is only 7 miles away and a breeze to get to. Hixson is a large enough area to have nice restaurants and all of the retail stores, even a mall, but small enough to not be so congested. This was a great location for us, and a wonderful little vacation. We will definitely stay here again when in the area. No need to risk somewhere else.

Pool was warm, hot tub was great after a long day of walking. Kids loved it as well. We would stay there again.
