Great Hotel! Frequent Visitors!

This is a great hotel and the amenities are wonderful. The rooms are clean and updated with everything we need (ie: coffee, fridge, microwave, nice flat screen T.V., etc.) Each time we stay we use pool and hot tub. The pool is heated which is nice. It also has a great gym. We reccomend asking for a room away form the hallway exit doors, we heard the door slam throughout the night which kept waking us up. Otherwise, it's always a wonderful visit and it's the only place we stay in Monterey~
Awesome stay! Great location, ammenities, accommodations and personnel!!!

I stayed twice in 3 weeks at this hotel because of the features!!!
BEST FEATURES: TRULY a "HEATED" POOL and jacuzzi, and fitness center; semi-private balcony w/glass sliders (you can hear both the ocean and traffic, but it is VERY quiet at night (unless they have wedding or other loud events); definitely the office/computer set up in a room near the lobby! Early-morning, free-flowing coffee and FRESH cream/milk in lobby (as well as in-room coffee makers w/coffee supplied, microwave and sm. fridge, food and beverage vending machines/ice machines), local and USA Today daily newspapers, sometimes delivered to room; desks with comfortable chairs; good lighting and parking;elevator directly to floors and lobby from open parking basement; good location for taking back roads through quaint acreage nearby, bringing you to city center;excellent on/off ramp location for freeway convenience! One of the best features is the professionalism and friendliness of staff; about 1/2 mile to OCEAN/SAND BEACH and appx 1 mi to main piers or downtown/city center - parking in MRY City is a pain sometimes! Try to use Portola Plaza for convenience, even if it costs you!
WORST FEATURES: Charges for ANY calls, including local calls; some rooms are a stretch from elevators...a pain if you have a lot of luggage, but carts are available; balcony lights are controlled by maintenance...permanently on at night, unless unscrewed by request; no pets allowed; no discounted rates; loud events (totally quiet by 11pm at the latest).
A Must!

What a great value! The furnishings were very pleasing and the pillowtop bed made for a very nice night's sleep. The hotel manager and the staff were very pleasant and accomodating. We spent a very pleasant 4 hours in the lounge area playing a board game in front of a very festive Christmas tree. I would highly recommend this hotel. Great freeway access, quiet grounds and great pool area and workout room.

Although I am normally a fan of Hilton, as I am required to stay there by company request, this is one of my least favorite Hiltons.
Prices are reasonable—though you can find better in Monterey—but the accommodations are significantly older. Suitable for business travel, I would recommend against the Hilton if you are traveling with family.
There is an outside pool, and on-site restaurant. The hotel is neither close to downtown not the beach.
