The lobby was breathtaking. The room was clean with a view that cannot be described. The French Quarter and Shops at Canal are indeed a power shoper's delight! I recommend this hotel to anyone who want quality, a sensational view and want to be close to French Quarter

Disappointed!

If you are acccustomed to the normal Westin heavenly experience, do not stay here! As a Starwood member, I had to ask both days for the "heavenly robe" and free water. The beds were hard, (we had two rooms) both were bad! I had "braged" on the heavenly beds, etc, to the other couiple, needless to say I was embrassed and there was no heaven here! The hallways were dirty, the service at breakfast was very slow with hardly any customers there. Two glasses were dirty! Late night drinks in the bar were hard to get!! There is a wonderful view of the river with large windows, we had to go to the bar to order anything! No service what so ever! I was paying for both rooms, and had to ask twice to get both receipts, when I got home I realized that I had another persons receipt! Westin should take there name off this one, it really brings them down!

Great location-close to convention center and evening activities. The restaurants and Bourbon street are withing walking distance. Staff was helpful. The rooms were older but clean with comfortable beds. I would recommend this hotel.

too much noise

I have stayed here twice before and have always enjoyed my stay. However, this time was not. We had several small problems, such as the toilet was constantly running, the room never cooled down below 74 degrees, the cable was out for most of our stay and the garbage was not emptied upon our arrival. The biggest complaint, however, was the noise. Hammering started somewhere above us at 9am and didn't stop until 5pm. When I called the front desk they said that the were doing remodeling and there was nothing that could be done. We were very disappointed.
