My Favorite Hotel Near Ala Moana Center

I love this hotel, especially the decor of the room and the bathroom. The room hasn't changed much since I stayed here last year with my family. It is still decorated in light beige tones and the bathroom always looks beautiful. The bathroom is surrounded in marble tiles and the shower has a glass door which I adore. I always tell my husband that I want our bathroom to look like the bathrooms at the Hawaii Prince Hotel Waikiki. Our service was great from the bellmen to the Front Office Cashiers. The bellmen are always accommodating and friendly. They always ask how we are doing since they know my husband, my son and I (we come almost every year). When my husband checked in the Front Desk Cashier upgraded us to a room on a higher floor which was wonderful because our room had an awesome view of the harbor. Our hotel room was in the wing near the pool so we had a great view of the surfing spots from Waikiki to Ala Moana beach. There was nothing wrong with our room so we didn't complain about anything in the room. The housekeeping staff was great and came to our room every morning to clean it. My husband worked out at the fitness center which he said was in still great condition. There is a business center on the 5th floor where the pool is. There is a lovely cafe in the lobby that sells expresso and cappucino beverages. They have a gift shop in the lobby called Lamonts but it is quite expensive so I go to the ABC sundry store across the street. They will soon open a bar and lounge on the first floor in the empty store space directly across the cafe. If you want to go to Waikiki you can catch the hotel shuttle which runs back and forth to Waikiki every half hour free of charge. I would definitely recommend staying at this beautiful hotel if you travel to Oahu.

Quiet & away from happenings

Hotel is located away from the beach & we'd to walk across the street to where Hilton is to access the beach. The room gets daily clean-up with a turn-down service in the evening. For privacy, the hotel is tops - didin't see many staff around during our stay. Basically, if you want peace & quiet, pick this hotel. Location-wise, it's pretty near to outside eateries. Food outlets in the hotel has a fantastic range of variety in their buffet spread. It's within walking distance to the Ala Moana Mall but we drove as parking is free there. In the hotel, self park cost us $15 each day...Valet is about $24

OUTSTANDING

The Hawaii Prince is a wonderful hotel, it is central to most everything. The staff is friendly and goes out of their way to help you. The pool is wonderful the reason I marke as a good is only because it closes at 8 pm. The food in the hotel is of excellent quality, however it is a bit over priced. Overall this hotel is the place to stay, it is far enough away from downtown that there is no road noise, yet close enough to walk to shops and to the beach.
