I was approached by somebody on the way into the hotel, and was told to park across the street directly in front of hotel. They next morning my car window was smashed in. I thought the hotel was creepy, there was no microwave or fridge in room and room was freezing. Would NOT recommend staying here.

Wonderful experience

We live in Richmond, but were attending a holiday party downtown and wanted to stay close by, and the Linden Row Inn was less expensive but just as nice as the hotel the party was in! All the staff were very friendly, the room was lovely, and larger than we expected, and the inside courtyard protected us from the sounds of the city. Only suggestion would be to make the weekend brunch available one hour later for those that like to sleep in!

Interesting building

I reserved a Garden Room and was upgraded to a room in the main building with a king bed. The room was huge! The overhead light had no switch so I had to rely on the three lamps placed around the room, which made it a little dark. I'd suggest they take down that overhead, although it may be up there for decoration now. Bed was comfy and everything except the two drinking glasses was clean. Because of where they had to place the light/vent in the bathroom, the shower is rather dark. Parking for check-in was tricky since they don't have a parking lot -- I had to drive around the block a few times before a space in front of the Inn opened up. The clerk was very friendly, polite, and helpful. The valet was prompt in bringing my car when I checked out (and nothing happened to the car overnight). Breakfast was a bit thin, even for a "continental" breakfast. The coffee was good, which is the important thing. For a decently priced hotel in downtown, I'd stay here again.

Just spent a night there on 9/17/08 and my wife & I would go back again on our next Richmond visit. The room was nicely decorated and clean. The towels and wash clothes were top quality thick material. Staff was super friendly and helpful with recommendations. The breakfast room has cloth table clothes, real cups and plates and silverware. Great waffles too. There is a big common area palor which is comfortable. The hotel uses a parking deck 1 block over so you can get easy access to your car if you need it, or they will bring it over quickly. We ended up walking to the resturant, Tobacco Company, and to the capitol buiding, etc. Bring your sneaks. There are hills in this city. We plan to stay here again next spring. We had a king room and there was plenty of room. This is a very old building but it has all updated systems, baths and AC for example. It beats staying in the standard fare chain hotels we usually visit.

My visit was beyond simple words. If you want to visit Richmond, the Linden Row Inn is a must. The hotel staff was the best I have seen in all my travels. I was greeted with a smile and the friendliest bellman. My friends had recommended the Jefferson hotel... but at nearly $/* a night I found more than my money's worth just two blocks away from the Jefferson. The sleeping room was completely renovated with beautiful rich colors and the room had a sweet smell like fresh linens. The towels were thick and fluffy. The spacious courtyard was perfect during the afternoon for reading. If you want to visit Richmond, you must stay at the Linden Row Inn. They offer everything you can find at the other hotels, plus so much more character!!!!! This is my new favorite hotel.
