This hotel is in real need of updating. My room showed signs of wear everywhere, the walls under the window had plaster breaking away, the blinds we bent., there we lots of marks on the walls etc. It was one of the worst roons I have stayed in in long time. To top it all off there is no internet service in the rooms only the lobby so I couldn't even work on the computer.

The Tremont is a good place to stay if you are interested in a great location for a decent price. It is definitely running down - the rooms are dated, and the walls have been repainted several times. The elevator is very slow. The bed was very firm - comfortable for me, maybe not so much for other people. There is coffee but no breakfast in the mornings, and no beverages (coffee or otherwise) available in the room. It does not have a business center or an ice machine. No room service, but you can order take out from Ditka's next door (they have a connecting door to the hotel lobby). However, my room was very clean, they delivered ice to my room, and it did have free wi-fi (the connection was better in the lobby). The main reason to stay there is that It sits just off the Mag Mile and is close to the lake shore attractions - most of the downtown area is within walking distance.

Great location, walking distance from shopping and lots of restaurants & bars. No in room coffee, ran out of coffee in the lobby twice during our stay. No room service. No bar in the hotel. Elevator really slow and broke down once for a couple of hours. Older hotel with average amenities, small bathroom. Ditka's restaurant right next door great to have so close.

We needed a hotel near Michigan avenue that was nice but reasonable. This hotel was just the ticket. An older classic hotel, pleasant enough for a quick stay. If you like a firm bed this is also the place to be. I would have preferred a softer bed.
