A Wonderful Experience

We stayed here for a business trip, but would definitely return again for personal travel. The location is unbeatable. The hotel is right on the beach, and all guest rooms have an ocean view. The room and other facilities were in good condition and very clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. When we arrived, the carpets in our room had just been cleaned and weren't quite dry. At our request, we were moved without argument and were given a free upgrade to a spa room. Every staff member, from the front desk employees to the housekeepers and restuarant servers, all seemed dedicated to friendliness and excellent customer service.
As to the price, we stayed here in December, during the off season. I know the rooms rates are two to three times as high during peak season, especially at spring break and in the summer. We would love to return during those busy times to see how the staff and facilities measure up to this stay, which, as we said, were excellent.

The hotel had clean and spacious rooms. However, they seemed understaffed. The couple in front of us was told they would have to wait several hours past check-in for the room they had reserved. Our room was skipped for room service, but they sent someone up soon after we complained.

The Courtyard Marriot at Carolina Beach was nice but when my fiance and I got there we had to wait an hour and a half to finally get checked into our room. However, we did receive a free breakfast for the wait and the staff was very courteous and professional. The weather was nasty on the beach our second day of stay so we didn't really get to enjoy what we came here for but that's no ones fault. Overall we enjoyed the hotel, especially the spacious room we had.

This property seems to redefine this area, which I have been coming to for many years. The staff is A+ and seem to have a better sense of Marriott standards in this regard then most any other hotel I've ever stayed at, even the very high end resorts we have been to.
Pretty Nice Hotel

This was our second year staying at this hotel. Overall, the service is good. The location is great, but it just seems out of place in Carolina Beach. As another reviewer noted, PLEASE HEAT THE POOLS!!!!!! My kids did not mind, but the pools were chilly even in June.
