The location was great. Republic square was a happening spot with cafes that stayed open and busy almost all night. Lots of close restaurants, cafes, patisseries, metro access, activity. Nicest hotel I have ever stayed in, in Europe. Has accomodations which Americans are used to, in an elegant setting. Our room was spacious and overlooked the square on the third floor. No mention has been made of the large center courtyard with lots of unused lounge chairs and patio tables on a deck. It is a quiet getaway from the street to relax in the sun.
good overall

The location wasn't near any major sites but, the metro was right down the street and that was just as good. The staff was mostly friendly but I had to ask for a crib for my infant daughter 3 times before it arrived. There were plenty of nice surrounding restaurants but not a lot of crowds. I should also add this hotel is the only one I've seen in Paris with a FULL shower curtain instead of the french half shower door thing. Sometimes it's the little things that make you happiest.
