Very comfortable hotel & efficient service

My daughter and I stayed at the Dan Panorama for several nights in December, 2007. The room was extremely comfortable and clean. The balcony is small but we had a beautiful view of the Mediterranean. The hotel's staff (front desk, restaurants, & housekeeping) were very friendly and efficient. The Israeli breakfast was extraordinary and had the most diverse selection of delcious food I have ever seen at a hotel breakfast. The food and service in the Lobby Lounge were very good and reasonably priced. Another advantage for us was the indoor parking connected to the hotel which was only 32 shekels (about $8 a day) regardless of how many times you go in and out. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Tel Aviv. It is conveniently located to the chique shopping areas in Neve Tzedek and Jaffa and close to central Tel Aviv as well.

Hotel rooms and facilities

Description of rooms (Deluxe Room, Sea View/luxurious/spacious renovated rooms) is deceptive. Either you get a small renovated room with no sea view or you get a spacious but not renovated room with sea view. In the high season, the hotel is overbooked and the reception staff tries to allocate available rooms according to the degree of complaints by tourists who regularly have to change rooms after they have violently complained. The guest service claims that the deceptive description is Travelocity's fault not theirs, which is of course a lie. A number of rooms still need renovation. Breakfast is excellent, although you have to wait for coffee for a very long time. August should be avoided as the hotel is full of very rude families. Pool is overcrowded. During rush hours, you have to wait more than 5 or 10 minutes to get on one of the 5 elevators. Standing in line to have breakfast is usual etc. The hotel location is not ideal (far from accessible beach and from the center of town).

overly expensive

They didn't have the reservation but honored the travel agency email confirmation but the cost for meals was way more than expected.

A REAL PLEASURE

We chose THE DAN PANORAMA Tel Aviv for its great price and location for the purposes of our trip. We were very satisfied with our room, bed had a great solid mattress. Our bathroom was good, with a nice touch of fresh flowers too. The balcony was very small. The food at this hotel was superb, especially the breakfast buffet. We enjoyed that it was only a short walk to Neve Tzedek, Carmel Market, and post office. The pool was huge and wonderful. Everything was very clean and the staff attentive. We would definitely stay there again.
