I cant tell you how awesome this hotel was. everything was clean, and everyone was friendly. It was in a great location, we walked about 1/2 mile to a free trolley that went to the Museums, (Shedd, Alder Planetarium, and Natural History) and then we took a Lake Tour across the lake to Navy Pier. TRY the BUBBA GUMP SHRIMP restaraunt...sooo good. anyway! back to the hotel, the staff was so friendly, neither me nor my fiance had ever been to Chicago before, so we were totally lost! She explained the best ways to get around to everything! The pool and hot tub are in a glass patio where you can see the city.. it's sooo pretty. especially at nite. and the pool was open until 11pm! The BED omg the BED!!! we had such a hard time climbing out of it because it was so comfortable. Here are my only complaints. The only breakfast availabe at the hotel is at the Webber Grill, it's nice, but expensive. Also, parking, like everywhere in Chicago, is expensive! We were parked in the hotel parking deck for a little over 24 hours and it cost. But overall, this hotel was a good buy. I just suggest not bringing a car and just using cabs and trolleys.

Great Stay!!

The hotel was in a great location. It was within walking distance of shops, nice restaurants, bars, and the subway. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and beds were sooo comfortable. I had a great view of downtown and the hotel was also quiet. My stay at the hotel could not have been better.

My best friend and I stayed here over the weekend Aug. 22-24, 2008 and the location was PERFECT for us. One block away from Rush st. (which is where the nightlife is) and 2 blocks away from Michigan Ave. which is where alot of the entertainment is. As soon as you walk out of the hotel, you step up to the sidewalk and the entrance to the Red Line (the subway) is 5 steps to the right. So if your looking for a very nice and enexpensive hotel in the middle of everything that you need. Then I would strongly recommend this hotel.

Once checked in, we realized immediately upon entering our room that it was a smoking room. We had requested a nonsmoking room for medical reasons. It took a lot of begging and threat of leaving the hotel to get our room changed. We have stayed in Hiltons before and were disappointed with this particular one. The beds were hard and the sheets wouldn't stay on the mattress, revealing a dirty mattress. Also, there were sheer blinds on the windows and no way to clothes the black-out blinds. The city lights shined in all night and the sun woke us up earlier than we would've liked. There was never a time where the room was dark. There wasn't any sort of breakfast available. We asked about it at the front desk and they referred us to a diner 5 blocks away. We later found out, by talking to other guests, that there was breakfast at the restaurant next door to the hotel. There are so many other great hotels in Chicago for a comparable. Choose one other than the Hilton Garden Inn on Grand Ave.

Friendly Hotel in Great Location

The staff at this hotel was very friendly and helpful with any questions that we had. They directed us to local restaurants, nightlife, and tourist sites with a smile. We could walk to most of the sites that we wanted to see in downtown Chicago, and there were many cabs in the area as well if it was too far of a walk to something we wanted to do. Great hotel for a reasonable price.
