Not the best

This is an older property - 16 years old according to the front desk - and it shows. The only updates that made it here from the latest round of upgrades are the beds and the breakfast area. The rooms still have the furniture, bathrooms, and fixtures from a while ago. There is no fitness room, and the cable TV selection is poor, with awful reception on the big 4 broadcast networks. The staff is friendly, the rooms clean, the breakfast up to standards, but overall this property is not one of the chains' better ones. I'd rate it a C-, a bit below average.

One Night Stay

We stayed one night to attend a university orientation. The room and hotel were fine. The bragged about "hot" breakfast was ok but not something to brag about. We were very unfortunate to have another guest park their large trailer that they hauled racing motorcyles in right behind our room. So at around 4:30AM they started opening the metal doors and lowering the ramp and making very loud noises banging around in this large metal trailer. Needless to say it ruined what remained of the night. The hotel needs to prevent people travelling with such trailers from parking right up against the back of the hotel-especially if they are going to bang around at 4:30 AM.

Great for Shoppers!

Three of us had the pleasure of spending two nights at the Hampton Inn in Bangor for a shopping expedition. The hotel is conveniently located right off the I-95 and is adjacent to the Bangor Mall. In the heart of the shopping district it was but a short 2-3 minute drive from most store locations and many restaurants.

The staff was very accommodating and friendly and rooms were extremely clean. The beds were comfortable and the bed linens very modern yet cozy. The room was equipped with wireless high speed internet and cable tv. The bathroom had a lovely shower with a curved shower curtain rod which was a nice feature to give you extra room in the shower. We also appreciated the soap/shampoo dispenser attached right to the shower wall (no little bottles to fiddle with).

The room rate included a deluxe continental breakfast which consisted of bagels, biscuits, toast, fresh fruit, yogurt, cereals, pastries and juices, coffee and tea. Also included were eggs and ham.

There was ample parking in the parking lot and we were never far from the main entrance. An elevator is also provided which was appreciated when carrying our purchases from our vehicle to our room.

Overall a very pleasant stay with staff who seem to really enjoy their jobs and are very welcoming and friendly to guests and a great central/convenient location for shoppers!

I travel a lot, all over the world, for he most part "a Hotel Is Hotel Is--" It is the people at the front desk and the supporting crew that makes the differnce. We enjoyed our brief stay very much and will will use the next time thru

The most unprofessional front desk staff EVER. Complained to GM. Received a voucher. When I tried to use voucher, I was lied to by front desk manager. Nice hotel and housekeeping.Preservation of my dignity keeps me away. FIRE THE FRONT DESK STAFF and hotel would be excellent.I am a frequent Hilton Honors guest. This hotel's staff is an insult to the Hilton chain. Stay away.
