The Hotel Paradis is in a fabulous location. My traveling partner and I were sleeping in the middle of the city, a block from the beach. Other than that, there’s not much to this small budget traveler’s hotel.
A small doorway is the only thing that tells you that you have arrived at the hotel. It clearly has "two stars" marked on the sign, and I’m not quite sure why any hotel would advertise that! When we walked in, the staff was very friendly, and we made our way to the stairs – avoid the elevator, it holds no more than two pint-sized children and a Barbie suitcase.
The Hotel Paradis is charming. It’s small, less than 20 rooms altogether. The hallways are pretty narrow, and the staircase twists around the elevator. The front reception area is tiled and has a mahogany-style desk, and every room has decorative wallpaper.
Our room was a bit of a surprise when we entered. It was cozy and had a TV, but we were booked for a four-person room and only found two beds. We ended up having to share one of the beds, and our roommates for the duration of our stay were two rowdy gentlemen.
We did have a large window that looked out on Rue Paradis, which has some excellent shopping on it. Our bed was quite comfortable, and the staff remained friendly throughout our stay. There may be better accommodations for the price we paid, but nothing is in a better location!
