Have stayed here several times over the past year. Always clean and comfortable. The bar/lounge overlooking Mirror lake is amazing. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Great food at the restaurant and good breakfast buffet included with room. Overall Room Price is a little high during peak season and on weekends. But it is normal compared to the rest of the places in the Lake Placid area.
Nasty Restaurant Staff!

We recently attended the Can Am tournament and had to frequent the Crowne Plaza for all tournament meals, as meals were included in the $1500.00 package. The restaurant staff were rude and nasty to the children, insisting that "they could not leave the dining room during the meal"--even though restrooms were in the lobby area. I cannot imagine why anyone would speak to a child in such a derogatory manner. It is obvious the staff does NOT appreciate or respect hockey families, which is surprising since these tournaments guarentee them employment. Very disappointing.

I have stayed at this hotel a few times in the last couple of years and it just keeps getting better. Great Staff, Great Rooms and wonderful food. When you are in the Adirondack Great Room bar and lobby you feel like you are on top of the world. Specatcular View!

After researching quite a bit on hotels in Lake Placid and considering factors such as price, location, and amenities, this hotel seemed like an excellent choice on paper and it did not disappoint. Its located in the heart of the town, on a small hill which is just off of the main street connecting the town. This location is perfect, its away from the busy streets and its elevation gives it isolation. If you walk down the hill then you are walking distance of the many shops, restaurants and the Olympic training center facility.
The price paid was around $270 per night (includes breakfast for 2) which was a last minute deal and during the holiday season so while it seems high, its actually not considering a lot of the hotel in its class went for the same amount. The rooms have beautiful views, over looking the frozen lakes and the gorgeous snow covered Adirondack mountains. There is a balcony with almost every room so you can enjoy all the natural scenary while drinking your coffee, as I did. The room also came with a jacuzzi which was suppose to be extra but given that this hotel was packed during this time of the year, they probably handed out rooms as they were available so that worked out to our advantage. The king size bed was soft and LCD monitor were nice touches, the room was nice and better then I expected.
The amenities of the hotel included a restaurant, a golf course which would be awesome during the summer, a gym and a swimming pool. The swimming pool was heated and also had a jacuzzi which were worth using. The breakfast was continental and had every thing in it, from corned beef has to yogurt, bagels and every thing else you need before heading out for the activities. The hotel staff was very courteous and helpful even with so many people checking in and out so service was definitely excellent. The staff at the restaurant were also excellent, as was the breakfast so I was impressed with the hotel and I think it was worth spending the money given it was a last minute plan.
I would recommend this place to any one who wants to be near the center of the town and for one who wants to stay at a higher class hotel then your typical days inn. I had a good time and would definitely stay here again.
