Plaza Underwhelming

This was a very underwhelming hotel experience. For starters, only 2 of 6 elevators work. I am not even sure if my room met code. Electrical socket covers were missing in my room. My friends room had duct tape being used in it to hold stuff together. Casino Customer service was lacking with different managers pointing us in several different directions to try to answer a seating question in the book area. I am NOT usually one to complain and have never felt compelled to write a review of any sort online. I just felt compelled to let others know what a pit this was.

Great place to stay

Room was clean when we checked in and was cleaned daily. There was a musty smell when you got out of elevator. Very good location! Every one we talked to was very nice and helpful.

Escaped from the Plaza!

I had two nights booked at the Plaza and left after the first one, which was too long a stay. The non-smoking room reeked of cigarettes, the wallpaper was peeling, the tub leaked and a leak from the bathroom above could be heard dripping onto the ceiling wallboard, directly above the toilet. Mildew was coming throgh the ceiling paint. My friend's room next door had a leaky faucet and more signs of leakage from the bathrooms above. They do attempt to keep the rooms clean. My room had been vacuumed and the sheets were clean but the level of dirt was not somethiong that a standard wipe and dust could handle. When my friend booked our two rooms we were told that they had been renovated. The front desk told us later that only three rooms had been renovated in the entire hotel and they were booked. Yes you read that right. Two multistory towers, what must be hundreds of rooms and they had renovated exactly THREE. Only 2 of the six elevators were working. The halls stank of dirt, there were stains on carpeting and walls and the hot water was a trickle. I didn't feel clean until I showered somewhere else. I love old buildings and the Plaza has so much potential. If it would only embrace it's history and go 60's retro cool, it would be great. However, even for the price, I would not stay there again. In fact, I wouldn't pay $ bucks a night to stay there, unless it was the last room in town. I don't say that lightly. Even the staff knows how awful it is. I was offered no refund at all for leaving early or getting a room that was NOT what I had paid EXTRA for. I escaped!

Wouldn't stay again

The room at the Plaza was ok, nothing to write home about. The Bathroom was disgusting, the wallpaper was coming off and curled on one panel. The bathtub had obvious signs of mildew around the corners near the wall. The Filter is imprinted with change every 6 months, it looked like it hasn't had a filter change in a year. Granted, we don't sleep in the bathroom and there is, of course, "You get what you pay for" but this wasn't worth the $ for the night. I love staying in downtown L.V. We Usually stay at the 4 Queens or Main Street Station and are very satisfied with the rooms there. Guess we'll stick with what we know.... L.L. California

All I can say is you get what you pay for. We felt OK sleeping in the beds. One bed was extremely soft the other was rock hard but we felt they were clean. The carpets were not that great and everything is older. Bathrooms are very small and need paint.
