We had booked this trip months in advance, as I knew that December in Cape Town is their high season and very busy. So, in doing this, we secured a really great rate of $50 per night due to the really good exchange rate at that time. It was not far from the airport, which was a good thing, as after a 22-hour flight, you don't want to have to do anymore sitting. We pulled up to the hotel and were greeted at the front desk with big smiles and great service. We were pleasantly surprised at the efficiency of the hotel. The appearance of the hotel was also very good. It looked brand-new and was clean at all times.
We were promptly shown to our room, but when we got there, the door did not lock, which we were very uneasy about. We called the front desk, and they immediately sent up their maintenance man. He could not fix the door, so we were moved to another room without any incident.
The rooms were large, and ours had a great view of Table Mountain. The hotel was in walking distance to the Victoria and Alfred waterfront and Table Mountain, although I wouldn't suggest walking there, and a taxi ride did not cost a lot. The hotel also helped out with tours, where to go, and how to get there. I loved how close it was to everything and would definitely return.
