These beautifull new homes (called Cabins as they are made of logs) are fantastic. They are very nice and comfortable and most convenient to accessing the ski mountain without use of a car. This private community is in a very pretty setting to the side and a bit higher in elevation than the base area. In the morning we booted up, went out the back door and followed a trail to a short service lift. The base area is a 5 minute ski after you get off of the service lift. From the back door to the main lifts takes about 10 minutes. Ski home at days end from the top of any of the lifts (mid mountain or above) on Lone Mountain by a series of pretty trails. (Their are a couple of places where it's a bit flat and a short skate is required so it is easier on skies than a snowboarders) The skiing at Big Sky is as good as it gets. Great for all ranges and lots of it. Leave your fur coat at home We are now regulars Their are lots of very nice homes in the big sky area but none as convenient to skiing as Powder Ridge some of the criteria in the ratings below do not really apply to a home . george geiser ,western Pa
