More Motel than Resort

I decided on Toby's after noticing it had the highest reviews of all the budget hotels in MoBay. Location is great, but the rooms and linens need to be updated: towels looked gray; cigarette burns in the bed linens; and the brooms and mops the housecleaning used were in desperate need of replacement. Toby lacked the finer touches to move it out of the "motel" category. But, for a budget hotel, it is decently clean with a very hospitable staff. Might try the Wexford -- room views are better and it is located in the middle of the hip strip.

My two girlfriends and I stayed at this “resort” for 7 nights, and it was very nice for being on a budget! The room we had was decent, with three twin beds, tile floors, and our own balcony, which was very nice! I believe all of the rooms at this resort have their own balcony, but if you have an option, ask for one facing the pool, not the street. The staff here was very friendly and helpful, and I actually felt like I could trust them more than other people in Montego Bay. Also, the pool is open at all hours, and there is a poolside bar, which was neat! I have to admit that I was a little worried when we first arrived at the hotel, because I thought it would be a little more “secluded” and tucked away from the hip Strip, but actually, the closeness turned out to be a plus, and we developed an attachment to our hotel like it was our home - I would DEFINITELY stay there again.
