The staff were always friendly and were always ready to assist. The room was very comfortable and clean. The hotel is located one block from Bethesda Avenue (shops, theatres, movies, restaurants) and is located on Metro Center One(easy traveling to sights in DC).The Daily Grind and Morton's restaurants are excellent and located in the hotel. Will stay there again.

I travel for a living and I have to say that for the price that this hotel charges for a room (even though I'm not footing the bill) is extremely disappointing. The only reason I can see that they get away with charging the rates they do for their sub-standard filthy hotel rooms is because of its location. I certainly can?t see anyone in their right mind paying for a room themselves would opt for this pig pen.
The hotel itself is very dirty, not to mention the rooms. What is really sad is that they can't even hide the uncleanness with the dark brown, gold and burgundy color schemes. Filthy carpet, dust abound, furniture barley passable, especially the torn dirty desk chairs. (For you own peace of mind, do not look behind the beds or any other furniture - but do check the corners of your mattresses for bed bugs). The window treatments are in complete disrepair, bathrooms all showcase cracked and stained marble, (don?t bring a black light...) not to mention the rooms with balconies and the sliding glass doors that don?t even close or lock properly.
The Hyatt Hotels and Resorts in my opinion has never ranked very high when compared to the Marriott or Hilton chains anyway, although this one has got to be one of the worst! It gives Bethesda a big black eye which is very unfortunate for a state (Maryland) that was just recently rated the wealthiest in the nation. Although, maybe it?s just that the center of Bethesda, MD is poor & dirty?
My advice, stay at the newly renovated Marriott Residence Inn across the street. Whether you?re paying for it yourself or your company, you can always come over to the Hyatt if you just want to eat at Morton?s Steakhouse or the unimpressive unclean Daily Grill restaurant.
