Description: The eighth day of our trip to the U.S. we ended at Cape Cod, specifically in South Yarmouth, where we spent the night at the Ambassador Inn & Suites.
The Ambassador Inn is a three star hotel with a satisfaction guarantee. That is if one should be dissatisfied they would get their money back. Always sounds too good to be true really.
The Ambassador Inn & Suites is located, as already mentioned, in South Yarmouth, Massachusetts. The hotel is located directly on Route 28 and is therefore not to miss. The connection is so good and it is also in the most beautiful places of the Cape or the sea.
The Ambassador Inn, with its 89 rooms on two floors is not very large hotel. The rooms are on the ground and first floor. There is rooms for both smoking and non-smoking and also wheelchair accessible. From the outside, the hotel is not very different from other American hotels: a flat, elongated building with ample parking in front.
Entering the hotel you are in a spacious lobby. The floor is covered with a colorful carpet that looks very old fashioned and not necessarily my tastes. Even the furniture is not exactly modern, there are a lot of wood and everything looks very rustic. As soon as you enter the hotel we noticed a very flowery, artificial smell. This is because every few minutes a fragrance is sprayed in the air with the air conditioner.
The lobby also has the breakfast room and game room. The Game Room is where pinball machines and other devices available that can be used for a fee. The entrance of the hotel equivalent of the institution, not my taste, but it is by and large already prepared inviting. Besides the possibility to go to the lobby at the computer to the Internet, you have also this hotel offers free wireless Internet access. Another highlight is certainly the swimming pools. There is an outdoor pool that was open but not this time of year and a large indoor pool with adjoining Jacuzzi. There is also a sauna. The pool was well attended until the evening. Children and young people may swim in the pool to 21 clock. The last hour, up to 22 clock when the pool is closed, is only reserved for adult guests. In the morning you can go swimming from 9 clock again.
Our rooms were on the ground floor, this time not all together, but a room at the top of the gangway, one in the middle and one at the end. Since the passage but not too long, you must not go very far to visit each other. Our rooms all had in common that they were geared towards the indoor pool. When leaving the hotel room, you look immediately into the pool, which is, however, behind glass, so you must not be afraid to run into it accidentally.
Our room we entered with the magnetic card. As we have already read on the Internet is the rooms and new furnishings in contrast to the modern lobby. The furnishings are all from the year 2010 are, therefore, all less than a year old, where one could find on the bedspreads still a few minor spots, but these were not fresh, but are not gone well when washed out. The room is not just big, but so that you can move around in it without any problem around the bed. Unlike the hotels we had previously visited the dressing room with the ironing board is next to the window and not in the hall. In the dressing room, there is a luggage rack. All furniture is made of light wood and simple modern design, which I liked. The blue bedspreads fit in perfectly with the carpet and curtains.
We had a room with two queen-size beds, in this case, two beds of 1.30 meters width. The beds have a strong spring mattress on which I slept, but still quite good. Only someone who has often turned, maybe not so much joy to the mattress. The three pillows were comfortable and the duvet was pleasant - not too hot, not too cold.
Between the beds is a night table with clock radio and telephone. The double reading lamp is on the wall above the nightstand. Right and left of the beds is enough space. Side next to a bed is a large mirror. Between the foot of the bed and the opposite wall is not so much room, for here is a chest of drawers with integrated fridge. On the chest is the TV. There is also a coffee maker. The three drawers and the wardrobe is not necessarily offer much space for clothes, because for one night but not before unpacking, it was in order for us. For longer stays, it could be difficult. In addition to the chest of a small table with two chairs, which is a little squashed in the corner does, but is handy if you want to write something. Above the table there is another mirror.
Right next door to the room it goes to the bathroom. As in other hotels, also the sink in the bathroom itself is outsourced. It is located behind a wall, so you can not see from the bed. Nevertheless, it is naturally awake at night when the other goes to the toilet and wash their hands. Above the sink there is a lamp that gives enough light and a hair dryer attached to the wall. The basin is a bit small, so we could not accommodate all our stuff there. We deposited our bags in the culture room, for much more than soap and toothbrush just does not fit into this corner. Unlike the rest of the room the area under the sink is already tiled the way the bathroom.
In the actual bathroom, there is still a toilet and bath with shower curtain. The shower curtain is up translucent, so that no one takes a shower in the dark. However, the lighting in the bathroom is so bad that it's still dark. The lamp needs to be a long time to light. In the photo, I uploaded, you can see it very well. Both in the hallway with a sink, and the bathroom light is on. While we recognize this over the sink, the bathroom looks as if no light on. After 15 minutes it is really bright, but because it is long since out of the bathroom, because even when everything was clean, the tiny bathroom is not with the somewhat noisy ventilation necessarily a place where you want to stay forever .
Overall we were pleased with the room. While it is not the greatest, but the decor is nice, everything was clean and it has everything you need. It is a pity that the bathroom is so tiny and fits the sink not into it.
At the Ambassador Inn & Suites is the breakfast buffet is included. The breakfast room is on the ground floor next to the reception. From 7 to 9:30 clock you can go have breakfast. The breakfast room is designed with a red, patterned carpet. The room seats about 40 people at tables for 4 people. Since we were six, we pushed two tables together, which was no problem. On the tables there are tablecloths and the chairs are upholstered in green. Overall, a typical breakfast room. In one corner is a vending machine, where you can buy drinks like Coke, but of course there is a choice of drinks at the buffet. During the breakfast was the TV that is mounted on the wall. Apart from us, nor were a few other families in the breakfast room, but we got the same one position and had to wait not at the buffet.
The Ambassador Inn & Suites in South Yarmouth is an average hotel. The rooms are nice, clean look (up to smaller, older stains on the bedspread) and have everything you need. However, they are a bit small and so the bathroom is also tiny and split off the sink, which I personally do not think so good. For one night it is in order. The rest of the hotel looks a bit rustic and may not meet my taste. The breakfast is average, but no more than that. Although the hotel is located on Cape Cod, but where nothing is going on and where you must not have been necessarily. At night it is deserted. Overall we were satisfied, if not enthusiastic. And for a night that was all right. So I give three average stars and a recommendation for all those who do not mind the solitude.
